06h35 -Main Mansion, the official residence of the Mafia in Seoul
Walking through the tall thick trees, my gaze scanned around the perimeter surrounding me for some kind of threat.
The forest was quiet, still and incredibly nurturing under the cold breeze of the early morning and even though I know I should've been complete aware with what I was about to do, I couldnt help but to actually enjoy the morning walk.
Reaching for the fence, my eyes pierced the tall clothed man waiting for me, his silluette so familiar it didn't take more than 2 seconds for me recognize the bulky form waiting on the other side of the iron fence, with a long coat and a dark hat.
Whistling as our signal, I could see how he turned, eyes meeting mine as I reached for the edge of the property, boots firmly touching the leaf filled floor.
'What's up?' I asked accepting his extending hand for a handshake 'Why are you here? I thought you'd be sending someone else'
'I brought what you asked for' Namjoon let out in a low voice, taking in the backpack he held on his shoulder and ruffling the inside.
It'd been two weeks since I last had been able to reach for the team in the Secret Affairs through letters and, for my surprise, the day before I'd received a message by one of the mail deliverers during my shift.
It was obvious I needed some help, I was hand tied. Besides the fact neither Y/N or any of the other members of the Inner Circle had been in the Mansion, during their silence treatment, I'd not been able to talk to Lisa either. She seemed to be avoiding me at all costs, and sincerely, I knew for sure it'd been by Y/N's hand.
She warned me, but she probably warned her too.
'What's this?' I asked my team leader, as he gave me a series of dark colored files.
'We made some research on the people you mentioned in the letters. There wasn't much new, but maybe it'll still be useful. Jin tried really hard' A sigh escaped his lips as he put the backpack back on his shoulder 'I'm not sure what it is, but there's definitely some kind of system holding back the information all around their empire. It's incredibly hard, oddly even, to find anything'
'Someone?' I frown 'You mean there's a guy working behind the walls on the security?' Namjoon shrugged 'That'd make sense. With the closed up communication system. One of the guys brought a phone to speak to his fiancee and they instantly found out about it. You weren't kidding, the protection walls are seriously well drawn'
'We'll keep on working on it' He told me, planting a hand on my shoulder, before he scanned my face 'Are you okay? How've been dealing?'
'I'm fine' I said back, glancing around as I hid the files beneath my thick coat 'How about you? Hope?'
'Cool'
'Great' I quickly answered, knowing I didn't have long 'I gotta go now'
'Yeah' Namjoon nodded, shooting his head to both sides, patting my arm 'Be careful, kid'
'Always'
**********
Ascending through the narrow staircase which led to the upper floor, where my room was settled along with the other workers, I did my best not to make much noise.
It was still early and not much people were around, still, I knew damn well the house had thin walls and I had to be careful not to be seen or suspected.
The hallway was empty and I reached my bedroom door quick enough not to encounter a single soul, shutting the door after me and locking it behind. Sinking onto my bed, a sigh escaped my lips and my hand reached for the thick files still hiding against my stomach, which I plastered all upon the thick beige blanket of the wooden bed.
