10h02 - Secret Affairs Confidential Office, Seoul
My steps were as heavy as my mind as I found myself snaking through the dark tunnels of the company, for the first time in months.
The light was dim, the walls as cold as usual, with their dark tone, the smell of gasoline and dust invading my nostrils and making all kinds of nostalgic emotions flow away as smoke from my body.
Everything was so familiar, but still so odd too.
The company had been my working site for years, ever since I'd been assigned to the team with the rest of the members, when I'd been around 20. 7 years had passed ever since. And the pathway to the central room, seemed as unknown as the rest of the whole building.
The last months of my life had been confusing.
I'd been assigned to a mission like I'd never been assigned for one before. I was used to find people, go after them and kill them. My job was to make criminals disappear.
But it was never like that with Y/N.
I was always told she should not be killed. She should not be harmed. I simply had to spy on her and her family, to find more information about her.
Why?
And why was I suddenly coming back, after nearly 8 months of acting like an undercover agent, feeling as if I'd not completed my mission?
Because I haven't.
When I crossed paths with the iron door to the centre room, the first person I saw was Namjoon, quietly sitting behind his desk in the dusty darkened circling hall.
He was silent, elbow upon the table, face serious as he saw me enter, with a flicker of excitement.
Raising to his feet, I saw the way he dressed with a suit, hair put back, and how he rounded the table yo wrap his arms around me, pulling me into a hug.
He seemed happy to see me.
There was a thing with Namjoon: he was one of the most intelligent individuals I'd ever encountered, but he wasn't free. His father controlled his every move and even if he was the leader of our team, I knew for sure, most of his decisions weren't actually his.
He was patient, self-assured, protecting. But he could never do as he actually liked.
'I'm glad you're okay. I heard they'd locked you up' His voice was tender as he analyzed my features. I was still a bit sore, a few marks on my cheekbones due to the smacks I'd gained during my short-time imprisonment.
'It's fine'
I knew he was worried.
Even though we were coworkers, the guys had known me ever since I was a kid. And we'd been together for so long, it didn't feel like a team anymore.
It was almost like a family.
A frown plastered on my face as I took in the silence, not ever the usual dim annoying dull noise of the computers rolling seeming to infest the room, making me notice how empty it was.
The lights were nearly out, every single computer turned off, both chair of the other desks, where Jin and Hope usually sat, empty. The gun's locket was turned down too, not a single riffle on display upon the large iron table where my trainer usually worked.
'Where are the guys?'
'They're not here'
'Clearly' I mocked, eyeing the tall man ahead of me, looking slightly nervous 'Where are they?'
