Forging

Phantom grins, even as exhausted as he is, glad that his mate finally knows his true name, the one only a mate or close friend would ever know. Phantom - Chiko - has been waiting for many years to hear it and the piece of him that has waited for this finally clicks into place, causing him to start glowing.

Danny is pulled back by Clockwork, who wants to shield his friend's mate from the blinding light that is about to cover the zone for a moment, shielding the human with his body as the light flares up and then dies down slowly, the ghost waiting until he can no longer see it behind his eyelids before moving. Where Phantom was, he still is, but his clothes have changed to what they should've been and what they will remain as since he finally found his mate.

Danny approaches his ghost, his lover, the one who might just be able to save him as long as nothing goes wrong and raises his arms, guiding him to the ground and taking his weight as he collapses, his head of white hair resting against Danny's chest, arms limp for a moment before rising to wrap around him. He's exhausted, but he has his own body now, so as long as he can spend a few moments floating in the ectoplasm, then everything will be fine. With a sigh, Phantom grins and slowly pulls back, giving his lover a small smile, before resting his forehead on his human's.

"Are you ready to go home now, love?"

"Where is home?"

"Wherever you want it to be. I have a castle, my lair, here, or your own home, with your parents, or even if you just want to go find some house in a random place, I will help you buy it. We can go and be wherever you want. I just want you to be happy."

Danny thinks about it for a moment, leaning against his ghost for a moment, before grinning softly.

"I've lived on the living side for a while, why not go leave a note, take all my stuff and move in with you? Your castle has room, I assume?"

"Yes, plenty, though you may also take my bed if you so wish. Or we can share, oh wait that- that's not what I... I wasn't trying to suggest... I just wanted -err..."

Danny finds Chiko's blue blush funny and laughs, gently poking his chest in retaliation to all the times where they had powers that failed them. Chiko had not meant for that to happen, honest, but the situation had been new and he'd been in a hurry to make sure his mate made it, so his powers kinda got to... run free for a while.

"I understand. Just let me tell Jazz personally and I think we will have no problems. We can even fake my death, make everything so much easier on me and you. What about you? Are you still going to fight the ghosts?"

"No. They are my subjects, I just want them to be safe. I will find a safer portal to let them roam the world through, because it is only fair they get the chance to find their mate if they are human as mine is. Plus, it does get boring here after a while. But, Clockwork, will he-?"

"He will live as long as you, and he will not ever age."

"Wait, really?"

Danny looks excited, even if it means he'll be short forever, he can deal with that.

"Yes. The bond you just forged and created, it is new and young, but as you grow older and you mess with it, you will find it can do many things, but you must also be careful, because if that chain is broken - which should be impossible, but the chances are there - then Phantom will be the one to take everything. All the pain and heartbreak, the regret and such, from every person would flow into him and it might destroy him, and if it doesn't destroy him, it will shred what makes him him and he will turn into a killing machine.

"We love our King and would really like if you could keep as much of an eye on him as he is going to keep on you. Please, Danny?"

He nods, his lover will never get hurt without serious consequences to the other person, ghost or creature. He will learn to fight, get lessons from Walker, Skulker and any other ghost he must as long as his lover, his Chiko will never have to get hurt in order to keep him safe. The chain will be their most guarded spot, the core and heart of both ghost and human. As long as neither is pierced,  they will be fine. The moment, however, that one of them is pierced, the chain will shatter and Phantom will go right along with it, into either an ocean of despair and destruction, or into death, and Danny himself will forget the ghost had ever existed in the fist place. Danny will not allow that.
