As me and Cass seemed to have a truce now my grades have been improving but I'm bored senseless with no-one to argue with, I was getting restless I needed to argue with someone which was why I was perusing law in Oxford it was my dream to fight the good fight as a barrister in London.

So when I saw some rough looking boys hitting a small 1st year or freshman as Cassie would say! You know I was going to do something about it. I wasn't an inherintly violent person... Oh who was I kidding I loved punching assholes but I tried to hit the gym instead and as a result I was quite toned. But seeing 8 huge 6 foot 12 kilo (500 pounds I think) against a 12 year old boy who wouldn't tip the scales soaking wet made me just furious. And I was being quite cold towards cassie as of late because I knew she knew but she hadn't done anything about it.

One day I saw them hang him upside down, shaking all his money out of  his pockets. And suddenly I couldn't take it anymore. "HEY LEAVE HIM ALONE, YOU JERKS, PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE!!" I yelled furiously, everyone was staring at me like I'd just committed suicide. My vision went red and I charged at them fists flying.

                    Cassie's POV

Ellerie had been quite cold towards me lately I knew she didn't like me much, but I got the feeling she was mad at me for some reason and I couldn't figure out why. On Wednesday I was chilling out when I heard Ellerie yelling in the second corridor, suddenly I realised what had been happening with her lately. As of late the Jerico gang had been bullying a first year called Marty Freeman, i hated that I couldn't do anything about it but they were properly dangerous. Drug running, gun violence and muggings were just some of the things they were famed for if you crossed them you were as good as dead.

As I rushed to the second corridor I prayed to god that I was wrong, but he wasn't being very gracious as of late. I saw the hazelnut haired girl flying towards 8 of the most dangerous people in this city.
"Ellerie no!" I yelled as people filmed on their phones or ran as fast and as far as I could. But I stayed and watched in horror as her fist flew into the face of the leader of the gang, her nails scratching as the gang were too surprised to react straight away. But they soon recovered and began hitting her back, she had the advantage of surprise but that didn't count for much against 8 gang members.

They landed a lot of punches and kicks to her body and before long she was on the floor covering her head getting kicked in the stomach I was frozen in place unable to move until I saw the silver flash of a knife.
"NOOO!" I shouted tears streaming down my face and body slammed into the guy about to stab Ellerie. His knife barley missed her eye slicing quite deep all the way to her hairline. The teachers finally intervened and pulled the boys away, I dragged her to an empty classroom and raided the first aid cupboard, I didn't want to drag the poor nurse into this if the gang knew she helped us they might hurt her young family.

Slowly as I patched up Elleries broken yet still beautiful body, I could tell she worked out because she wasn't nearly as bruised as she should have been. Slowly she woke up, and with great difficulty sat up against the wall on the desk I had placed her on. "what happened" she groaned as I dabbed her forehead which was cascading with blood, she would definitely need stitches. "you tried to fight the Jerico gang, you bloody idiot what were you thinking do you actually have a death wish!" I shouted furious she would put herself in so much danger. "Jerico gang?" she asked confused and I could tell she had no idea what I was talking   about.

"you don't know?!" I realised, she shook her head "they're one of the most dangerous gangs in LA your on their hit list, I know that you thought they were just bullies but they might actually hurt you and your family. You should've known I would never ever turn my back on bullying but you have to be so careful they literally kill people El. " I said seriously
Her eyes widened" the kids! "she said quietly. She looked so scared so vulnerable I just wanted to press my lips against hers. It was such a terrifying experience because I felt it so strongly as quickly as it came the feeling disappeared but I still felt like I wanted to kiss her. The fear overwhelmed me and I hurried to the door. "don't worry I think I might be able to smooth things over with them" I said she slumped back finally relaxed clutching her right side where she got hurt the most.

I hurried terrified of the gang leaders I had to speak to now but I was more afraid of the intense feelings I now had for Ellerie or maybe I had them the whole time but just didn't realise. It was this pure terror that propelled me forward towards a far more dangerous situation, though still a thousand times less terrifying than dealing with these feelings I have.

As I approach the classroom I know they'll be in I knock Stelling myself with fear induced confidence. "Enter" Markus the leaders voice rang out, I walked in "what do you want, we've got work to do making that bitch pay for what she did." he growled, I winced at the swear word. Me and Markus had an uneasy truce that he wouldn't actually kill anyone on campus if I kept the teachers away from his dealings, not that they needed much convincing." it's about Ellerie, the girl who you fought, you probably didn't know but she's new and I know your rule Markus, everyone gets one pass right!" I said knowing this was his rule and he always stuck to it. "fine." he snapped but you're going to have to reimburse me for my troubles, a grand sound fair? " he said ominously and I knew he wasn't actually asking. I nodded, placed a $50 note in his hand which was technically for schoolbooks but I could always take money out of my account for that.
I would pay him the rest tommorow till then I would go home and try not think about anything that happened today.
