Hermione's POV

We were starting to relax as we flew next to the train. I told Ron this was a terrible idea, but as always, he didn't listen. If we had only written to Professor McGonagall it would have spared us so much trouble, but according to Ron this was way faster and 'bloody awesome'. Ron was trying to explain a few weird Quidditch moves and tricks when I started to notice that we were losing altitude.

"Um, Ron I think we're running out of gas," I tried not to interrupt him. I've learned over the years that he really liked to talk about quidditch. A lot. And I knew how he gets, so I said it a bit late and we were very near the ground and the train was right next to us. He looked to his left and found the train right next to him and when he turned to look at me, his eyes were wide in panic. We got lower, and lower until the wheels of the car were on the ground and as soon as we landed the car abruptly stopped.

"Well that's brilliant!" He said annoyed

"You know...we could write to McGonagall...?" Ron throws his head back and sighs.

"Fine but there is no way they will be able to trace us. We're outside the border of the forbidden forest. You said back in the Triwizard tournament that you couldn't see Harry in the marauders map when he went to see the dragons with Hagrid because they were outside of the boundaries of the forest. Right?"

"I...yeah that's right. You remember?"

"Well if you tell me things it's probably because you want me to remember them, right?" I raised my eyebrows at him and gave him a look, while internally I felt my heart melt. He actually listened- "I pay attention! ...to you anyway...well, we'll have to tell McGonagall that we're stuck, and we'll order gas and then fly over the border and then she can get us over to Hogwarts." A nervous air went through his face and then muttered something about mom and her having to know as well. I merely nodded since I was stuck in my thoughts. My heart did a triple backflip there. He remembered what I tell him. And I tell him a lot of things.

No. Feelings. STOP!

"Well... I'll write to McGonagall and you write to your mom and tell her that we're fine and that we'll be in Hogwarts in no time" We set to work after I conjured a table and a few chairs. Ron admitted he brought with him a tent like the one we'd used on the quidditch world cup, only a quite smaller.

"Ron, that's actually great. I think we might be here a while."

"Yeah everyone in the family owns one for extreme emergencies and everyone else's is way bigger, but mine's something," He blushed and turned around to set the tent. I finished my letter to McGonagall, which according to Ron was long enough to even make HER fall asleep, which was followed by a smack in the arm from me and him having a small laugh. I really liked his laugh that I had to smile along. He returned to put up the tent after he sent his letter to his mom along with mine with Pigwidgeon.

I came from the forest next to us, after failing to try to find out how far away from the forbidden forest we were, to a Ron with a grumpy look on his face.

"Ron, what's the problem?"

"I called the magical emergency gas station and they are saying that they are out of gas and that they will be able to provide it by Wednesday afternoon" I realized it was Monday and immediately got nervous. That was way too long. What if we got attacked? What would happen to my grades? I couldn't miss that much of ancient runes or my grades would drop. I must've looked devastated because he smiled shyly and held me in a warm hug. I hugged him back, slightly awkward at first and then held him properly. I hadn't realized how stressed I was. I'd never broken the rules before, (apart from when we were, you know, saving the wizarding world).

"Should've learned from last time huh?" he whispered in my ear and then pulled away from me slightly. I smiled at him and let go slowly, suddenly missing the warmth of his arms. His face suddenly turned slightly pink and his ears a soft shade of scarlet and awkwardly stepped aside to reveal the tent.

"I managed to put up the tent, but there might be a slight problem with the sleeping part." I moved forward nervously and looked at him before going in. I entered and found myself in a bedroom as big as the one my parents had at home, with a small kitchen in the corner and to my own joy, a small bookshelf with a sofa to read. I saw a small bathroom in the back right next to the bedroom and don't ask me how it's meant to work because there is some magic, I just don't want to understand. It was perfect. Ron entered as I looked towards the beds. Well, bed. I realized a little too late that it was one king-sized bed clearly for a couple and blushed. We would have to sleep there. Together. I turned to Ron to see him suddenly very interested in the carpet design. I didn't want this to be awkward, but I didn't want to sleep in the same bed with him. I was not ready to sleep with a boy yet.

"Well, I pick the bed"

"Wha...what? And I get what, the couch?"

I giggled and say "yep"

I laughed and ran to the bed with Ron catching up to me now laughing too. I jumped on the bed and he followed me.

"Fine, but you are gonna have to pay for it," he said with a mischievous grin on his face. Then he put his hand on my side and I froze. He could not know. He then quickly started tickling me and I doubled over laughing hard.

"ok! ok, ok, OK! fine, fine, fine!" He laughed hard and we both laid laughing together on the bed. We both sat up and turned to look at each other at the same time and our faces were barely centimetres apart. Ron blushed deep red and looked into my eyes. I felt heat rush up to my cheeks and stared back. I wasn't going to look away. This was Ron. I wish he wouldn't look at me like that all the time. But I guess he's just looking at me and It's my feelings that make my stomach feel like it's been confounded. He smiled shyly.

"You have beautiful eyes 'Mione" I smiled at him not believing he just said that and then he stood up and moved to the small kitchen at the corner.

"Shall I cook something for dinner?"

"You? Cook? Just please don't kill us tonight," He laughed and with a flick of my wand the cabinet in the kitchen was full of food. He turned to look at me in awe

"I thought you said food was one of the five exceptions of Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration!"

I smirked at him. He does listen. "Well after last year I wanted to be prepared." I shrugged playfully "I still have a few tricks up my sleeve. I'm a witch am I not?"
