(Crazy morning) Ron's POV
I was going to kill her. I couldn't believe her. Ginny had to go blabbing her mouth and told mom. And how could my mom say that in front of Hermione? Of course, she couldn't have known... but oh god I was in for a long day. Had Hermione noticed? Did she realize what it meant? I had just finished doing my expertly made scrambled eggs with some toast (I like to broaden my abilities) when I heard Hermione leave the bathroom. I took off my jumper and stayed with a white tank top since I was starting to get flustered. I immediately started making coffee and washing my hands and cleaning the table and... well just making it seem like I wasn't that big of a mess.
Hermione entered the kitchen and my heart nearly leaped out of my chest. She was beautiful as usual, but that wasn't it. It was what she was wearing. Nothing fancy about it, but that hoodie was...mine.
"Hey. You like that hoodie?" what kind of question was that? She looked down in confusion and saw that it was my hoodie and her cheeks immediately turned that shade of rose that drove me crazy.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't realize it was yours. I just grabbed something off the trunks, and I didn't see that this was yours. I'm so sorry I'll take it off right now" she was rambling so many things I barely caught some of it. She turned to leave the kitchen, but I grabbed her elbow and turned her to face me, her eyes wide.
"Hermione, it's fine" Her cheeks went back to their usual shade. "It looks good on you" And you can ask me now how I got the courage to say this then, but It just slipped out of my mouth. As soon as the color had left her cheeks it came right back and the smiled making my heart melt
"Thanks, Ron" A moment went by until I realized I was still holding her. I let her go and I felt heat rush up my neck. I turned to get the coffee and pour it in the mugs. I'd filled the mugs and when I turned around Hermione had sat on the edge of the counter with her plate on her knees. I walked over to her and handed her the mug. She thanked me and poured some milk from the carton next to her. Honestly, Breakfast went by very quickly. Weirdly there was no tension between us. Hermione sat there on the counter and I listened to her talk about how over the summer in Australia she'd been able to visit all these great architectural landmarks and see many historical sites she'd always wanted to see.
"Oh, Ron you have to come over to my house next break to see the relic I convinced my dad to buy. It's amazing. My parents actually miss having you around, to be honest" and she chuckled slightly. I laughed and took her plate and started washing it.
"Yeah, we'll go during the break and they can come over to the burrow for Christmas since, you know, they've never actually been" I looked up and her eyes sparkled.
"That sounds great Ron. They haven't seen you in forever." I smiled remembering the last time I'd been at Hermione's place.
"Yeah, last easter, right?" she smiled remembering our...um chocolate incident "I don't think your brother has forgiven me for the chocolate bunny incident," I said smirking at her (A/N: btw I just really wanted Hermione to have a brother even though I know she doesn't so that I could add a lil humor later on in the story tee-hee :) and she smiled back.
"Oh god you got chocolate all over his room" I chuckled.
"I didn't think it was going to be a sunny day! And to be honest I meant to be nice" Hermione giggled and jumped off the counter.
"Well, I found it hilarious. And he'll never admit it, but jack thought so too" she walked over to the sink and placed down her cup in the sink. I stepped aside to give her room
"Yeah well, I hope he doesn't hate me too much" I leaned against the counter as she turned on the faucet and started doing what was left of the dishes.
"No, he doesn't hate you. He really likes you I promise. Of course, next time maybe avoid chocolate... or maybe food in general" I shoved her, and she splashed me with water. I looked at her and she had a mischievous grin on her face that I rarely got to see. Last I saw it was Easter actually. Obviously, we immediately started a water fight soaking each other dripping wet. Well, it was mostly me since she was the one with the sink on her side (incredibly unfair by the way). She had drenched me in water, and she had barely been splashed. She was doubling over in laughter and I had to laugh along. I stood up and took off my shirt to leave it to dry.
Of course. I could've never been a Ravenclaw because just then I realized that I was shirtless. In front of Hermione. It was stupid really. She'd seen me shirtless last year to take care of me when I got splinched, but it wasn't the same. There I was injured, and Harry was there and well now we were alone. I wouldn't say that I was built like Dwayne Johnson or that I was scrawny and skinny. I always thought I was alright, but right now, all I could think about was the fact that she could see me. What if she thought I looked scrawny? or that I had barely enough fat? or too much fat? or too little muscle? or I had over exceeded my muscles? or that I had... well, that there was anything wrong. I couldn't make myself look at her and pretended to be busy with my shirt, but I could feel her eyes on me. I coughed and looked at her. Her cheeks slightly flushed
"I'm gonna go change into something a bit more dry..."
"Oh yeah, yeah. Sorry for soaking you." she laughed and told me to go ahead mumbling something about finishing up the dishes. I walked over to the couch and picked up the blanket and pillow I left there earlier. I placed the blanket around me starting to feel rather stupid for taking my shirt off out of nowhere.
I searched the couch and started to panic. I fell asleep with my picture of Hermione in hand and now I couldn't find it. I started picking up the cushions and looking all over the floor. I couldn't lose it. What if Hermione found it? What would she think? My mom had already spilled enough secrets and her finding the photo was not going to make things less awkward. I stood up and for some reason, the last place I checked were my pockets. I found an old sickle in my left pocket. Nice. And then the picture was on my right. I sighed with relief scolding myself for panicking and not thinking about checking my pockets.
"What are you looking for?" I turned, the blanket fell off my shoulders and I saw Hermione blush.
"Nothing" I saw my magazines next to the couch on the floor "Just the magazines" she mouthed 'oh' and leaned down to pick up the blanket that I'd just dropped. I sucked in a breath as she stood up and was right up in front of me. If she only knew the effect her caramel eyes had on me. She reached out and handed me the blanket
"Here. Now hurry up and go put a shirt on. We're going out to make sure the place is safe." I nodded, barely paying attention since I happened to be shirtless again.
"Yes ma'am" I walked back to our trunks as Hermione finishedup the dishes. Now, what was I going to wear?
