Raina's POVI looked out the window as everything was a blur. Nothing seemed to interest me anymore. We've moved so many times that I shouldn't expect anything from anything or anyone. I sighed sadly.
"Come on Rainy, tell me what's wrong", uncle Charles said. I turned my head to look at him, he gave me a small smile. I just looked down and looked back out the window. He reminds me too much of my father. I know their not related by blood. But I just see too much of my father in him. And that's what hurts the most. I heard him sigh. "I miss them too rainy, you have no idea. But they wouldn't want you to be like this. They would want you to smile and live your life to the fullest", he said. I could tell he was Trying to cheer me up. But it wasn't really working out very well. I could feel the sting of tears welling up in my eyes. I turned to him. "How can I? When we're always moving place to place, never actually staying in one place long enough. How can I live my life to the fullest when we're always running, it's my fault we're on the run, it's my fault they're dead, it's my fault I'm a orphan", I said as a few tears rolled down my cheeks. I wiped them away.
I didn't want to seem weak. I was weak before and that cost me my family. I only have one person left and I'll be damned if I lose him too. I heard a meow and something move in my lap. I looked down and saw Jax. I smiled softly. I ran a hand through his fur. He always knew how to cheer me up. "Hey buddy, ready to go see your new home? Yeah me neither", I said sighing. He meowed again and then jumped onto my shoulder. He rubbed his face onto my cheek. I giggled. His whiskers tickled my cheek. He then licked my cheek. I giggled again. I scratched his head. "Thanks buddy", I said softly.
I looked out of the window again. Only to see a house. But this house wasn't exactly normal. It was made out of glass. Like everything was windows. No wood, no concrete. Nothing. Just glass and windows. I raised an eyebrow. Who the fuck wants a house like that? And who importantly makes a house like that? Where's the privacy? I rolled my eyes and shook my head. I leant my head back and just waited for us to get to our temporary house we'll be staying in till the next time we leave. It wasn't long, we stopped at a nice little house. It was actually pretty looking.
At least this house wasn't all glass and windows. At least it was made out of wood. And I really liked the look of it. And made me sad that we would soon have to leave soon.
I waited until we were at a complete stop. I got out. I opened the back door to get my stuff. I snapped my fingers and walked towards the house. With my suitcases floating behind me. I mostly use my powers for my every day living things. I watched as Jax began the transformation from kitten to panther. His large tail swayed back and forth in the air. I turned and looked out into the woods. I just figured it out. Whoever lives in that glass house are our neighbors. Great. Hopefully they don't come over and try to be fake ass neighbors like the last ones. I sighed and shook my head. I continued to make my way towards the front door of the house. I waited for uncle Charles to open the door. I walked in, I turned my head and I noticed stairs leading up. Great. Stairs. I walked up the stairs.
I chose the first door I saw. It was a bathroom. 'Nice only one bathroom'. I thought to myself. I walked to another room. It looked a lot more like my style.
Uncle Charles did good with doing my room. He knew what I liked. I snapped my fingers again and my bags and suitcases dropped onto my bed. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. We won't be here long. That I do know. I sat in the little swinging chair the room had. I tapped my fingers against my stomach and blew out out a bit of air through my mouth. "You know, you need to smile more", I heard his deep voice. I turned my head to look at Jax.
I rolled my eyes at his words. "Says you, you dramatic little shit", I said. He chuckled.
"Yeah but I'm supposed to be moody, nothing says you have to be", he said as he made his way over to me. I groaned in frustration. "Ugh! Kill me now", I said running a hand through my hair again. "Sorry, I love you too much", he said dramatically. I rolled my eyes again. "Yippee for that", I said sarcastically. I squealed when I felt arms wrap around me. "Jax! Let me go!", I said giggling loudly. He chuckled. "Not until you smile for me, I ain't letting you go until I at least get a smile from you", he said wiggling his eyebrows at me. I rolled my eyes at him. But it only got me him twirling me around. I squealed loudly.
I giggled. I hated when he does that. I can't help but laugh when he does the eyebrow thing. I tried covering my lips to stop him from seeing me smile. But I burst out laughing when I felt fingers tickling my neck and underarms. I squealed and laughed out loud. "Okay! Okay! Fine! You win!", I yelled as I laughed loudly. He chuckled and kissed my cheek. "There's my ray ray, there's that beautiful smile of yours", he said. I giggled. "You always know how to make me smile, you big turd", I said thunking him on the head with my pillow. He chuckled. "Well it's not like I've known you your whole life, oh wait a minute, I have", he said chuckling. "Cheater", I said sticking my tongue out at him. He chuckled again. "Well as your guardian and as your big brother, I have to know these things", he said. As he tapped my nose. My nose twitched. I rolled my eyes. I pushed him so he was laying on the bed. I cuddled up to him. He wrapped his arms around me. He placed a soft kiss on my forehead. "Get some sleep sis, we've got school in the morning", he whispered to me. I yawned softly and snuggled up to him. "Goodie", I said sleepily. I slowly closed my eyes and began to fall asleep. "Goodnight little sister, I'll protect you forever, even when you don't need me", he whispered to me. I'll always need you Jax. Your my big brother. And I will always love you. You and uncle Charles are the only family I have left.
Please don't leave me. I don't think I'll be able to survive without you if you do.
