Third person POVThe minute the ambulance got to the hospital, they rolled Raina into the hospital. She was mostly covered in blood. From her head, to her thigh bleeding. Nurses and doctors came rushing over. "We need to get her into a room", Dr. Helen said. They didn't hesitate, they rolled her into a room. They grabbed bandages, cleaning wipes and stitches kits. "Someone page Dr. Cullen", Dr. Helen said. Nurse Judy did just that.
Dr. Helen started on wiping Raina's head, getting the dried blood off. Dr. Helen hissed when she saw the head wound. "Well that ones a killer", she muttered to herself. It was deep. The doors then opened.
"I was paged?", Carlisle asked once he came walking through the doors. "Head wound, most likely concussion, maybe even slight risk of brain bleed", Dr. Andrews said. Carlisle got in doctor mode and put on some gloves. He motioned for the doctors to move out of the way so he could work. But once he saw who it was. He stopped in his tracks. His mind went back to the drawing that Alice had drawn so long ago. It was a perfect match. This girl was his mate. His second mate. Their shared mate.
He gulped. Even though he didn't need to. His mate was here, right in front of him. Hurt. "Dr. Cullen?", Dr. Andrews asked him, trying to get him out of his trance. Which in fact did. "Her head is going to need stitches, and most likely that wound on her thigh, I'm going to have to fix her leg, and it will mostly likely wake her up due to the pain", he said sternly. He hated the thought of himself bringing the pain on to his mate. But that leg was going to end up healing wrong if he doesn't fix it now.
"Dr. Andrews, Dr. Helen, I'm going to need you to hold her shoulders down", he said as he gripped his mates broken leg in his cold hands. They both nodded and pushed gently on Raina's shoulders to the bed. Carlisle sighed. "I'm sorry", he whispered. He then snapped the bone back in place. And the minute he did, he heard a loud scream echo the walls of the room. He tensed up when he heard it. He hated the very sound of it.
Raina tried getting up, but it was impossible. Someone was holding her down. She fought and tried to get out of whoever's arms that were holding her down. She yelled. "Let me go! No! Let me go!", she yelled. Carlisle gently put down her leg on the bed. He quickly rushed over to Raina. He gently placed a hand on top of her head. "Hey, hey, it's okay. Shh, everything's okay. Your safe, your going to be okay", he whispered soothingly to her. And it seemed to work. Because the minute she heard his voice. She stopped fighting and looked into his eyes. 'What beautiful eyes she has'. Carlisle thought to himself. He gave her a small smile.
Raina slowly raised her hand to his cheek. "Your real", she whispered. He chuckled. He placed a hand on her cheek. "I'm real as anything miss", he said. He wouldn't let the rest of the humans in the room know how he was feeling. But feeling his mates hand on his cheek, god did it feel so good. Her hand was so warm. So soft and gentle. He wanted to lean into it. But all he could do was smell her scent. He got her scent and her blood. Which snapped him out of his trance.
"Okay miss, I'm going to have to take you down to the MRI room, you may have a brain bleed", he said softly. In case she might get scared. Raina nodded, but her hand went to her forehead. She could feel a bandage on her forehead. "Oh, no. That stays on there, you got in quite the spill. That's why we have to see if there's any bleeding in that Brain of yours", he said soothingly. He gently tapped the non bandaged side of her forehead. Raina nodded her head slowly. "Is it safe?", she asked him. He gave her another smile. "Sure is", he said. "Okay", she whispered as she slowly laid back down.
Carlisle looked back at his colleges. "I'm going to take her down to the MRI room", he said. They just nodded at him. They never questioned him. He was one of the best doctors around. They knew she didn't have any spine injuries or neck injuries. So it was safe for him to take her down to the MRI. Carlisle soon wheeled her down to the MRI. He could feel her eyes on him. He smiled. He had finally met her. "Your very handsome", her words slurred. He looked back down at her with a smile on his lips. "Well, thank you", he said, and if he were human he would most likely be blushing.
She giggled. She was delirious, most likely from the pain. He then felt her hand touch his bare hand. It didn't take him long to hold her hand tightly in his. But not to tight. Just enough to comfort her. "You'll fix me, right?", she asked him. He just gave her a smile. "You don't seem to need to be fixed. But I am going to make sure you walk out of these doors in a few days", he told her. Which got him another giggle. And he just loved the very sound of it.
And before the two of them knew it. They were in the MRI room.
And as he was settling her in the room. She caught her wrist. "I'm not completely human", she mumbled. He looked at her confused. What does she mean? She smells human to him. "What are you?", he asked her. "I'm a witch/mutant", she whispered to him. His eyes widened. He's heard of them. But he thought they were all dead. 'I guess I was wrong'. He thought to himself. And he was glad he was wrong. She was one of the very few survivors.
He smiled down at her. "Your secrets safe with me", he said jokingly. He saw her smile, which he loved. "Yours is safe with me too, Dr. handsome", she said with a giggle. He knew that she probably knew what he and his family were. He had a feeling she did.
He was about to settle her into the MRI. "Can I tell you a secret?", she whispered to him. He chuckled. "Sure", he said as he bent down. "I know your my mate. All Witches get mates, and your mine", she whispered to him. He pulled back in surprise. Which only made her giggle again. "You sure make funny faces when your surprised", she said giggling. Carlisle shook out of his shock. He would have to talk to his family about this later. But as of right now, he had to make sure his mate didn't have any Brain bleeds. He picked her up and set her down gently in the MRI Machine. "Okay, I'm going to need you to be completely still for me, okay?", he told her. She smiled at him. "You got it doc", she said with a tooth filled grin. He chuckled and patted her hand.
He walked into the other room. He pressed a button and watched as the machine worked. It doesn't take much long to get the scans. He sat in the chair. Just going over his thoughts. He thought it would be like one of his regular boring work days. He didn't expect this. Not at all. And he didn't expect his mate to be a witch/mutant. But none the less, she was here. And he knew he would have to protect her. Because he knew how all the mutants died. And if someone were to come looking for her. Well they'd have to get through him first.
