I head into the cold bathrooms, showering and changing into my clothes for the day, deciding to quickly brush my hair and lazily throw it into a bun. I stare at myself in the bathroom mirror for a while, examining myself. My skin's pretty clear for the most part, so I guess that's good.
I head back to the commons before breakfast to hangout with Daphne and maybe meet some new friends.
I walk into the green room to a buzz of talking from everyone. The room is busy with students gossiping, studying, and someone napping on the couch. I roll my eyes at the sleeper and head over to where Daphne and her other friends are sitting.
"Hi guys," I say, taking a seat at their table in between a brown haired girl and a tall boy eating some every flavor beans . There's a few books out but nobody's really studying, just gossiping about their summers. I sit back and listen, chiming in a few times to stay a part of the conversation, but mostly just trying to learn more about the other students. I reckoning the brown haired girl from my charms class, I learn that her name is Amanda, and she's from London. Her summer was spent in France on holiday mostly, and at a quidditch camp, she plays as a keeper. The boy's name is Nathan, and he's from London as well. His summer was mostly spent on holiday as well, except for when he was caring for his garden as apparently his family are all herbologists. They all seem nice, and I'm glad I'm fitting into a group finally. We all sit together at breakfast, continuing summer gossip of who's dating who.

"They really broke up? Poor Cho," says Nathan while taking a bite out of a muffin.

"Wait? Who?" I asked, and Nathan points to a ravenclaw girl.

"That girl there and Cedric Diggory had a thing for like the longest time, and after the incident at the triwizard tournament, they were the biggest ship in the school, like true love or something."

"What about Draco?" I ask, and Amanda raises an eyebrow at me.

"What about Draco?" Nathan questions.

"Oh, you know, like, who has he dated?" I asked, my cheeks turning a bright pink.

"He and Pansy have had a thing, but other than that he's probably snogged like every slytherin there is." Amanda laughs.

"What? For real?" Draco? really? does this have anything to do with last night? My mind is racing with more questions but soon class starts and i'm forced to focus on something else.

Lunch comes around and I sit with the same group as breakfast. Classes were boring but apparently transfiguration has an exam soon because studying is all Amanda is doing through the meal.

As everyone's sat down, waiting for the food to appear, we begin to hear the fluttering above of owls. Our mail is here! Owls swoosh down over the tables, covering them in letters and packages. Students all around me open up their packages, mainly from their parents. I received one too, from my mom and dad. I read through my letter and stuff it into my bag and soon after lunch begins.

"Hey Cassie, this is for you." Daphne says, handing me a note. I open the folds to read 'meet me in the quidditch patch at midnight <3'

"Oh my god" she says, leaning over me to read the letter. The group eroups in questions that I do not have the answer to and I bite my lip, looking around the room as if someone is going to jump out and answer everything.

"It doesn't say," I reply to the group, flipping over the paper to only see 'for Cassie' written, with no indication to who wrote it.

"Soo.. what you're saying is, you've got a secret midnight date with a secret admirer.." Amanda laughs,

"I think what she's saying is she'll need help picking out an outfit." Nathan smiles. I sigh, and for the rest of my classes I can't focus on anything other than the note.

After class, the four of us head into the dorm room to help me choose what outfit to wear. Daphne starts pulling out my dresses, skirts, and pants, throwing basically my entire wardrobe onto my bed.

"Is this really necessary?" I ask, referring to the mess being created on my side of the dorm. Jokingly, Amanda does a spell to change my robes into a ball gown, and I spin around in what is now a green Cinderella-esk dress.

"Really?" I laugh, looking at my figure in the mirror.

"It suits you quite well,"

"yeah you should totally wear that, maybe even add a tiara or something" the group laughs until we're all teary eyed.

"Seriously guys tho! I need actual fashion advice!!" I complain, and my friends finally get to work, to pick at my pile of clothes, trying to create the perfect outfits. When they're done each picking out their ideal outfits, some even using spells to change the colors and patterns of my clothes, they have me change into each one like i'm their personal barbie doll.

Daphne is preparing a green skirt and layering a blouse underneath a sweater, for shoes my white chuck's. I walk across the room and they criticize the outfit, deciding that this isn't 'the one'. Next is Amanda's, cute jeans and a green sweater with boots and barrettes. This one is 'comfy and cute' according to the group and I say I have to agree. The quiddatch patch is going to be freezing at midnight too, so it might be best to wear pants. Nathan's outfit is a pair of plaid pants and a cottage core-esk top, and I have to say, it's pretty cute.

"Okay which one? Vote on it or something because I can't pick between these," I say, and the group huddles up, whispering to each other.

"okay I think we're going to have to go with, drum roll please." says Amanda, Nathan beginning to drum in order to build suspense.  "I think the plaid pants and that top, it's talented, brilliant, show stopping, spectacular,-"

Nathan chimes in, "never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it." We laugh and soon begin to clean up our disaster of a fashion show. Amanda and Nathan go back to their own dorms when we finish and then Daphne starts giving me instructions on how exactly to sneak out, especially with Pansy in the same room, who Daphne says is will for sure tattle on me if she catches me.

"Don't put your shoes on until you leave the common room, and don't forget, the Hogwarts doors are all mostly locked after lights out, you know your alohomora right?" she asks,

"of course," I say. "It's going to be fine, right?"

"I hope so." she replies, "you really have no idea who your admirer is?"

"no idea."
