I get ready for bed like the rest of the girls in the dorm, pretending as if everything is normal, when inside, i'm absolutely freaking out. Who sent the note? What am I supposed to do once I meet this guy?... or girl? It could just as much be a girl as a guy. As I finish getting ready I lay in my bed, my contraband headphones in with high-intensity music to keep me awake. Pansy came back from classes late so now she's got to go through her whole routine later than expected. I roll my eyes as I watch her use like 10 different products just for her skincare.

Finally, she gets into bed just as lights out is announced. I lay awake staring at my ceiling, my heart racing, trying to figure out just when Pansy is asleep and I can get out. To prepare, I made sure to put my date outfit inside my backpack, next to the boots I choose. My mind races with all the 'what ifs' as I wait.

Once i'm sure Pansy is asleep, I crawl out of my bed, grabbing my bag and shoes and tip-toeing out of the room. At one point she tosses over in bed and my whole body freezes, but then she lets out a loud snore and I let out a sigh of relief, continuing on my escape.

As soon as I get out of the commons, I hurry to the bathrooms to change out of my pajamas as i'm running out of time. If only it Pansy wouldn't have taken so long to fall asleep! I hurry with changing, and when I'm done I take one last look at myself in the mirror before making my way up from the slytherin quarters and into the main hallways, staying close to the walls as I get closer to the main exit.

Once i'm there, I do a quick 'alohomora' spell and the door unlocks audibly. I slide it open just a pinch and slip out into the night.

While making my way toward the quiddatch patch, I check my watch, it's almost midnight, and I begin to panic more about what exactly happens next. I have no idea who sent me that note, and if I even know them. What if it's like some stalker and i'm walking to my own murder? And worse- what if it's someone I know?! Someone who has talked to me and been my friend?! My teeth begin to chatter from the cold and I cross my arms instinctively.

I enter into the field, looking around I see a blanket and basket on the other side. I jog over, and once i'm closer I sit down and open the basket to find a bunch of sweets.

Suddenly, I hear movement from behind the fabric wall, and my breath hitches, as out walks Cedric Diggory, carrying a bottle of liquid and two glass cups.

He's startled a bit by seeing me, but smiles nervously while walking towards me, "you came?" he says, sitting down next to me.

"It was YOU?" I question, laughing nervously.

"Uh, um, yes." He runs his hand through his hair. "You really didn't know?"

"I had no idea- I mean, it's not like i'm disappointed or anything- the opposite actually." I smile, looking to the ground to avoid eye contact.

"Well, good. Because I was pretty nervous."

"YOU were nervous? I was the one sneaking off in the middle of night to meet a possible murderer?" I laughed, looking up at the tall boy in front of me.

"I didn't want to ask you out in front of anyone in case you said no," I said, beginning to blush a bit.

"Well, for the record, I wouldn't have said no." I smiled, "Now, what are we doing all the way out here?" I laughed.

"It's quiet, and I wanted to have a picnic," Cedric pouted, "I brought some good snacks too, and pumpkin juice!"

"I love snacks," I said, and together we began to unpack the basket of sweets Cedric had brought.

As the night went on we snacked and laughed and talked about almost everything. I learned a lot about Cedric, and he listened to me talk about myself. He's got an absolutely adorable personality, and his looks... damn. he's gorgeous who am I even kidding?

After a while I begin to shiver from the cold.

"As much as i'm loving this, we should be getting back soon right?" I mention.

"Here, take this, to keep warm," Cedric says, handing me his hufflepuff hoodie.

"Thanks Ced," I say, slipping into the hoodie. It's warm from his body, and smells like coffee and vanilla and fresh cotton. We put the rest of the picnic in the basket and walk back to the school, holding hands. My heart races every second we're together, and his smile, its so warm and genuine and i'm happy that it was Cedric tonight and not some murderer.

When we get to the main doors, Cedric whispers a quick "alohomora," and we slip back into the school. We sneak the rest of the way to the Slytherin common entrance and stop.

"Thanks for this, I'm glad it was you and not some murd-" I start, but Cedric suddenly cuts me off with a kiss. I wrap my arms around his neck, having to tiptoe to reach, and he places his hand on the small of my back.

"Goodnight Cassie," he whispers, smiling.

"Goodnight Cedric." I reply, and with that we head back to our dorms.

I slip into the room and quietly change back into my pajama pants, but keeping on the hufflepuff sweater. I stumble around, finding my way around in the dark until I fall softly on my bed, wrapping myself into my blankets, slowly falling asleep with the thoughts of Cedric still in my mind.
