"I can feel a presence here." the psychic muttered, her grey cat-like eyes roving the area above them, hands outstretched as she turned. "It's sad, angry...a young child." her voice was soft, husky, as she moved out of the room and into the bedroom, the camera following close behind. "He's there." she hissed pointing to a corner. The camera man panning to close up, as if able to capture the ghost on film.
"I'm getting a huge EMF reading here." A male voice said clearly, as he swept the K2 meter around the room.
"If you'd like to speak to us, you can speak into this device I'm holding and we'll hear you. Or you can make a noise." Another woman spoke, holding a recorder out before her.
"He cannot speak, he was choked to death." the psychic whispered as she held her own neck. "I can see the hand prints upon his neck. Please young spirit, be free, leave this place..." the first woman said as she made the sign of the cross, breathing heavy as if running. "We need to all pray." she coaxed as they all began to chant in Latin. "Leave here spirit! Bother no more!" she shouted, eyes closed she pushed her hands forward as if physically expelling someone, before collapsing to the ground.
The other two quickly rushed to her side.
"He's free." she said elegantly. Glancing at the camera with a practiced sultry smile, she got to her feet slowly. "The house has been cleansed."
"And...Cut!" the camera man hollered.
The self-proclaimed psychic shrugged the other two off. "I need some rest, I'm going back to the hotel." Gliding out of the house, she left the others to clean up the equipment.
Chan rolled his eyes as she left, beginning to unplug and gather the equipment cords. "Sometimes I wonder if she can actually do as she claims." he mumbled putting away the meter.
"She can Chan." Beom defended. "You still there Hyunwoo?" she asked, speaking into her headset, "Did you get anything?"
There was a moment of silence followed by a crackle of static. "Not a damn thing."
A new voice was added to the others, "We haven't got anything good in months." The man behind the camera mumbled, cleaning his lenses and packing up as well.
"Wish I could say they're going to cancel this show." Ji-hye, the sound girl whispered to the camera man, Minseok, who glanced at her sidelong.
"Are you kidding? People love this spiritual crap, and stuck up bi-, I mean woman, is supposedly, the leading world authority on the dead."
"You bet your paycheck people love it." A new figure appeared in the door way, cell phone in hand. "Now, hold onto your asses, cause I've got some serious news."
The other four in the room paused in their work.
"What's the deal?" Chan asked with a raised brow, "Another house haunted by a cat spirit? A supposed demon in the basement?" he said sarcastically.
Ms. Park was the producer of Souls of Seoul the paranormal detective show, and current cash cow. "They want a full length documentary."
There was silence in the room for moment. "Really?" Beom asked, her jaw slightly slack with shock.
Nodding, Ms. Park crossed her arms. "They want it gritty and real, feel the genuine fear. It's just going to be five of you."
Minseok was interested, a chance to film something real for a change, not dark imaginary shadows. A chance of doing something worthwhile.
