Eirisinia sat on a mahogany chair by a table made of the same wood. Her hand was pressed against her head while her elbow was on top of the table. Her lips formed a frown as her eyes locked on to her father with agitation as she pretended to not hear a word of what he was saying. With a deep and powerful voice, her father spoke to her about his ambitions for the kingdom when she becomes queen in only a few more hours.
"Tomorrow you will rule over Lovereighn," her father, King Axinite, said with dignity as he admired parts of his kingdom through a gigantic glass window. The view was quiet breathtaking especially at this hour where the orange sun slowly sunk down the flat horizon.
"This is what you have been preparing for your entire life Eirisinia and I hope you do not disappoint me," he stated with a voice that lacked the tone of a loving father.
She batted an eye at him who was standing in front of her. He wore a red robe etched with white diamonds by the seams. They eyed each other before she looked away from the pot bellied man who had a long white beard that brushed by his chest.
In the corner of the room, a portrait of her hung by the wall. She stared at herself as she waited for her father to finish his repeated yammering. She looked at the woman inside the frame and wondered if she could ever be the person her father wanted her to be. However, she already knew the answer to this question.
No matter how much or how hard she tried her father always turned a blind eye and refused to accept all of her efforts. As she continued to stare at the portrait, she noticed how her long and shiny hair fell down like a golden waterfall and how her lips that were as red as cherries were closed and formed the tiniest forced smile. Her fair skin looked burned from the sun even though she rarely went outside. But what she really noticed was how her eyes were empty blue dots as deep as the ocean.
"Are you even listening to me?" her father roared. He voiced a sudden thunder that echoed through the palace walls. "Do you realize what will happen tomorrow? YOU will be queen and yet here you are wasting your time, ignoring everything I say instead of channelling your conjuring abilities."
She scowled at her father with contempt. "Does it even matter if I can conjure anything or not?" She disrespectfully answered. "There is no more war, no more fight. There is no longer a need for me to channel my energy into conjuring weapons for enemies that are no longer alive." She confidently responded before redirecting her eyes to the portrait of herself.
"But how are you going to protect the kingdom and its people?" He questioned her with visible doubts.
"Protect Lovereignh from who? There are no more dark conjurers in Eastelfia. WE, the light conjurers, have eradicated them all before I was even born, besides, what is the use of all the guards dawdling about in the palace if they cannot properly do their jobs," she arrogantly told him with her soft gentle voice.
Conjurers are humans who have been blessed by the power of creation and there are only two types of conjurers in the whole land of Eastelfia. Light conjurers who have golden hair and the ability to conjure anything out of thin air using the light around them while dark conjurers have purple hair and have the ability to conjure anything using the darkness around them.
"This is the reason why I am hesitant in passing down the throne to you," the King stated in a powerful voice as he rubbed the side of his forehead.
Eirisinia stood up and put down her hand with a loud thump, "Why!? Are you afraid that I am going to ruin this entire kingdom because I do not have the ability to conjure even a simple weapon?" She snapped at her father who was belittling her.
"Do not start this discussion again," the King brimmed with anger. "You, the princess, must be seen as someone firm and reliable. I have not even once seen you interact with our people?"
