Between You and Eye

I watched my three friends grow ever-twitchier as the meet and greeters filtered out of the smaller room. Soon there were only two left. Shortly after receiving 'nice to meet you, enjoy the show' hugs from the whole band, they walked out giggling- off to be given the rest of their pre-sale package.
When I told the girls where I'd really been all day, they were freaking too far out to be mad. When I told them they'd be meeting Pierce the Veil soon, I thought I'd have to perform CPR.
When I told them we were personally invited to the after party, they had to sit down.
Vic, Mike, Tony and Jaime all stood up out of their chairs and walked towards us- I could hear Selena squealing under her breath and I silently willed her to be calm.
"Guys!" I skipped toward them a little, and gestured to the girls. "My three best friends- Beth, Selena and Cat."

I was impressed with how well the girls kept their cool. They had just met their favourite band under the strangest circumstances, and now we were all sitting on the carpet in the smaller room eating Chinese food. It was cute really, the way they all sat on the floor having communal takeout. I soaked up how warm it felt and took a look around. Beth was talking to Notebook Woman about event management courses in college, and Selena and Cat were chatting to Jaime and chill sound guy Will.
I'd really loved spending the day with Vic, and I thought he liked spending the day with me. I couldn't describe how it made me feel.. I only knew I'd never felt anything like it before. It was the way he listened so intently when I spoke, and understood what I meant perfectly. My heart jumped up and blocked my airways whenever we made eye contact. I felt elated around him.
It wasn't for the reasons you'd think;
not because I listened to his band through my tough times, or because I'd read about him in magazines.. There was times that day when I'd forgotten all about those things- I was just having those crazy feelings for a perfectly normal guy.
Mike's words kept replaying in my head.
"Victor's never brought a girl home before."
My own thoughts started to suffocate me, so I just asked.
"Vic?"
"Mm?" he turned to me with his mouth closed over a piece of sweet and sour chicken.
"How long do we have?"
He knew exactly what I meant. I could see it in his eyes.
He swallowed and moved a little closer to me.
"Our flight to the UK leaves at 4pm tomorrow," he said. "Ten days worth of shows there, then the European leg of the tour is over. A month's break, and we start touring across the States."
He looked unsure of what to say next, so I forced a small smile and nodded, despite the doubt rising. His eyes looked sad, but he smiled back.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Notebook Woman stand up, and I made a mental note to find out her actual name.
"Finish up you guys," she called. "Doors open in 40!"
