Trigger warnings: car accident, death

George pulled out his trusty scooter and immediately began having second thoughts. Am I really going to do this? he asked himself. He could get injured or worse, and if his theory was wrong, it would be permanent.

He shook the worry away. He wasn't likely to get hurt, and if he did get injured, there was a chance that it would end the loop.

With that thought, he rode the scooter down the walkway until he got to the perfect spot: no crosswalk, on a street that wasn't overflowing with cars, but wasn't abandoned either.

The first car passed. George didn't move, instead choosing to spend a bit more time psyching himself up.

The second car passed. George twitched forward, but changed his mind before he touched the asphalt.

The third car approached, and George bit his lip and pushed off, riding the scooter into the middle of the street.

——

George awoke with a gasp, adrenaline rushing through his body. As his heart gradually stopped pounding, he examined his body. No damage had been done.

He'd survived.

...

He'd survived.

The fading adrenaline was quickly replaced with fear as the full impact of what had just happened sank in. He'd just died, and woken up like it had never happened. Dear god, that was terrifying.

He was never doing that again.

A beeping noise from the bedside table made him realize that he'd completely missed the call from Clay. It didn't matter significantly, he'd had the conversation with him before, but he still felt rather bad. Maybe he should start answering him.

——

"Shawty bad with the—"

"Hey Dream, what's up?" George answered in a monotone voice.

"Hey George, you ready to record soon?" both boys said at the same time.

Clay stopped, processing what had happened. "Wh- George, what was that?" he asked, George once again saying it with him.

"George! Seriously, that's creepy!" In sync yet again.

"You know what?!" George sat up. "I am sick and tired of waking up to this phone call every. Single. Day."

"George, what-"

"I hate this, and I hate you! I just want to be out of this stupid loop!" George shouted before hanging up and putting his phone on silent before Dream could call him back.
