"Shawty bad with the Skechers on, wanna hold your hand, make—"
There was a thud as the phone hit the wall and the music stopped. George felt like screaming. He'd listened to that ringtone so many times that it was permanently burned into his brain.
Ever since his outburst at Clay a few loops earlier, he'd just gotten more and more pissed off. At his phone, for playing that ringtone every single day. At Clay, for calling him every single day. And most of all at the universe, for putting him in this loop in the first place.
What had he done to deserve this? Had he upset some higher power? Did said higher power just feel like fucking with someone?
There had to be some way out, there had to.
George frowned, lost in thought. There had been plenty of fictional works in which someone got stuck in a loop. How did they escape?
He retrieved his phone from where it had fallen, but it didn't turn on. He mumbled an "oops" before sitting at his computer instead.
"how to escape a time loop" he typed into the search bar and clicked on the first website, titled "5 Easy Tips to Escape a Time Loop".
Number one. "'Figure out your secret goal'?" he read out loud. There was something in particular he had to accomplish in order to escape. "God knows what that is," he muttered.
Number two, "Buddy up," was definitely not an option. He had no idea what caused him to loop, so he had no idea how to get someone to loop with him.
Number three was "Explore different paths." He quirked an eyebrow. That was an option. He ought to look into that.
