Lucia LockwoodA woman who runs a business by herself and yet has enough time to spend part of the day with her daughter, even to the point of reserving every Friday to her friends.
Lucia Lockwood used to be a wedding planner when she left her former town, but when she established herself in a complete different city, she had to change some things to continue with her work. She always has been smart and cold headed, after all she didn't think it twice when she turned her back on her past life and walked away from everyone that stopped her.
After her daughter was born she wanted to spend as much time as she could with her newborn baby, so along with a group of other six friends, everyone contribuited with a part and created an event planning agency. It isn't hard when you have black magic under your sleeve.
The coven formed way before she decided on running away, starting during her college days, when a couple of friends turned into a group of seven, all of them with knowldege of what they could be capable. Her idea surged back in those days, when she was a young girl who resembled Nicole in all senses.
The young Lucia realized she wasn't someone who could tolerate to share her space and ideas with someone to call a pair, and it wasn't like she didn't had the chance to have someone by her side but the life of a wife wasn't for her.
When she told her parents about her wishes, they opposed firmly, as if it was a decision for them to make. But she didn't answer them in the moment, she just waited.
...
My hair was still wet from the shower, so it felt a bit uncomfortable when the strands stick to my neck and lay on the back of my red sweatshirt, probably already damped.
As I scribble the last details of a paper, the sound of keys and the door of the entrance unlocking can be heard from downstairs.
"I'm here Nicole" My mom shouts from the first floor and I put my laptop aside on the bed.
"Okay, do you need something?" I tell her back from the start of the stairs.
"I'm going to prepare some tea, if you want a cup, come down" She says after dropping her keys into a crystal bowl by the entrance and making her way to the kitchen.
I go back to my room to finish the last part of the work and give it a conclussion, and right after saving it I turn off the laptop and place it on my desk by the window again. When I look through it for a brief second I catch a glimpse of someone walking by the side walk.
It was that strange boyfriend of Melanie, he was singing some random song out loud, not minding if anyone saw him or not but also carried a bag from the craft supplies store.
"Well, he is a fan of decorations I guess"
Once downstairs I see a cup of steaming tea already by my seat. Mom was sitting across of the table and already sipping from her own drink, when I walk in her direction and take a seat, the scent of the warm beverage is stronger.
Rosemary, chamomile, cinammon and honey. It is a relaxing mix my mom tends to prepare whenever something stresses her out and it is definetly the case tonight.
"What happened?" I ask her once settled and with my own cup in hand.
"Nothing bad, but nothing good either"
I stop before taking the tea up to my lips, eyeing her with narrowed eyes.
"But, is everyone okay?"
"Yeah, kind of, but I-" she stops mid sentence and looks away from her tea to stare into my eyes.
"Nicole, are you sure becoming a witch is what you want? I want it to be your decision, not something I put into your head"
Now, that's new, and serious.
"Of course, I still stand on that idea. I'm not changing my mind. I'm aware of what it means"
She nods slowly, tearing her gaze away from me and drinking another gulp from the steaming tea.
"One of the girls said that troubled situations are happening on the next days, if you see anything out of place, don't handle it alone"
I'm a bit taken aback now, they tend to anticipate almost everything, and if they aren't right, there is always a way to fix it, apparently this time, it was something far from their reach
We dont't say anything else in the next minutes, only take our time to finish our drinks and leave to prepare for bed.
