Chapter 8: Getting a Little Sicker

Later on in the day, I started feeling better. (Well, I was faking my sickness. It was quite fun, though.)

I decided to write in my journal for about 25 minutes, until I ran out of words to write. Before I started writing, I saw that Justin fell asleep on the floor. (I really don't know how he got there.) So I dragged him out of the room.

"Now I can write." I said aloud, and began writing.

7:30 PM

My stomach suddenly growled loudly. "I must be hungry."  I thought. I got up, went to the kitchen to find myself something to eat. All I had were apples, Frosted Flakes, and a microwavable dinner' which included macaroni and cheese.

"I'll go out and get something." I don't know when I was going to go grocery shopping, but one day I will.

I put my coat and my golden flats on, then made my way out the door.

*On the way*

There was every restaurant that I could think of: McDonald's, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and my favorite, Burger King. I pulled into the parking lot of the fast food place.

I got out of my car, and walked in. There wasn't that many people eating here, others were probably on break. I walked up to the counter and ordered what I wanted. I'm mostly a non-meat eater sometimes, but this time I wanted a cheeseburger. The cashier gave me my receipt, and I waited for my order to be ready. I waited about 10 minutes, until I was called. I took the bag and left.

*At home*

Once I got home, the coughs, sniffling, and sneezing started back up again.

"Is someone sick again?" Justin asked.

"Maybe." I answered.

"Did you take any medicine?" I totally forgot! I had cough medicine in my bathroom cabinet.

"No...?"

"I'll get it for you." He got up off the sofa and went to my bathroom. Soon enough, he came back with a small plastic cup with a red liquid in it.

"God, I hate that medicine. Did I have anything else in there?" I asked.

"No, this was the only medicine you had for coughing. The rest was just some Tylenol." He answered, and gave me the plastic cup.

"I don't want to take this... I'll be fine, I promise."

"You'll have to. It's the only you'll feel better."

"Isn't there pills for this?"

"Umm, I don't think so. It's not going to hurt you to drink that."

"It is."

"At least it's not acid or anything! Just take the medicine."

"But I really hate this medicine..."

"Why don't you drink the medicine, then drink some water after that?"

"I guess that could work."

"Great."

I quickly drank the medicine, went to the sink, and swallowed the water coming out of the faucet. I don't normally drink water coming from the sink, but it was closer.

"That should help for the next couple of hours." Justin said.

"It better." I said, and went back to my room.

A/N: I would've done the same thing. I always hated medicine that tasted horrible. Nicely done, Samantha. :) Please vote and comment! I greatly appreciate it ;D ~Tennessee_Timberlake
