I watch as LaLa flies out into the night, a letter for my dad with her.

"You look beautiful," Angelina smiles.

"So do you Lina," I smile back. My smile doesn't reach my eyes. I look at my reflection.

Auntie Lil had helped me find a gorgeous dress. It's simplistic but elegant. A vibrant and bold red satin. A figure hugging too section, v-neck, and strappy. Before forming a small poof around me, nothing too extreme, a slit up the leg. My gold heels peeking out.

My makeup is done to perfection, a smoky eye and a glossy lip, with chiselled contour and blinding highlight. My hair sits in its usual loose waves with sections twisting together and secured at the back of my head, meeting and allowing half my hair to form a plait.

I follow Angelina downstairs. Happily smiling as we force a first year to take pictures of the four of us in every imaginable combination.

Ascending the stairs to the hall, all eyes are on me and for the first time in a while it feels like it's not for a horrid reason.

"You look beautiful," Lee grins when I meet him and the twins.

"Thankyou. You look great too," I smile to him. The twins compliment us all and I allow myself to take one look at Cedric.

He's stood in a black suit and robes, his hair perfectly tousled. He looks incredible. His eyes are trained on me and I can see the hurt swimming in his eyes. Cho is on his arm looking undeniably beautiful in a golden nude dress. They look picture perfect.

"Hey, lets get you away from all that," Lee whispers taking my arm and pulling me with him into the hall.

I feel my heart breaking as I watch them dance. Leaning on Lee's shoulder as he gives my hand a gentle squeeze.

"Don't even think about it," he mutters comfortingly. Soon enough everyone else joins in dancing and our group move to get drinks.

We talk happily and laugh, smiling for pictures together and drinking merrily. I try to force myself to enjoy the ball, wanting to look back on it fondly. I force myself not to look at him. At them. At Klaus who is looking me up and down all night. I'm glad for the twins punching our drinks.

I watch as Hermione twirls around looking gorgeous with Krum, laughing at Ron's bitching.

"You wanna dance?" Lee questions. I nod and allow him to lead me into the dance floor and twirl me around.

"Hey Lee, I'm telling you this as a friend, Alicia Spinnet has been staring at you all night," I grin up to him

"We have kinda been talking recently," he admits.

"Why the fuck are you dancing with me then?" I laugh

"You just had your heartbroken. It's a bit sad to be dancing alone," he grins

"Oh shove off," I smile letting go of him and pushing him towards her

"You really do deserve better," he smiles to me. Before walking over to her. I jump at the feeling of hands on my waist but grin when I look up to see George.

"Hi," I smile

"You look like a princess," he smiles twirling me under his arm

"Thanks Georgie," I grin. We dance for a while before it happens. We go past a group of Ravenclaw girls. Cho's friends.

"Looks like Weasley is the lucky one she's going to sleep with tonight," one voice sounds

"I really thought it would finally be Lee,"
