"It's funny," I say, turning to meet his eyes. "You usually drive me but now look, I'm your chauffeur."
He looks at me and gives me a sad smile. "I'll pay you."
I laugh and make a turn. "Do I go left or right?"
He flicks his fingers to the right, I frown my brows and turn to him. "Do you wanna talk about it?"
He thinks about it for a moment before shaking his head and giving me a soft, "No."
"That's okay, but if you do, I'm always here."
He nods again, I make another turn and I'm faced with a gate surrounding a bunch of apartments, I carefully turn and make my way to it. I roll my window down and tilt my head. "Name?" The man asks me.
"It's Ace, Frederick," Ace says to the guard who smiles and nods, he clicks a button and the gates lift. "It's the fourth one," Ace points to the apartment in front of us, I park the car and turn it off.
"What do you rate me?" I ask, joking.
He looks at me and squints his eyes. "A three, you don't know how to turn properly."
"I take offense to that," I sneer, playfully hitting his shoulder before we both step out. I follow behind him as he fumbles with the keys in his hand. He opens the door and we both step in, it's fancy, obviously, the entry has lights around the top and a grey stone staircase to the top. I follow him up until we reach his door.
The inside of his apartment is spotless. No strewn clothes, dirty stains, no dust on top of the countertops. I see the kitchen first, it's grey with a marble countertop and an island in the middle, the living room has couches surrounding the table and a large Tv stands on the wall.
"I like it," I say, he gives a short nod. "Give me a tour?"
He nods again and leads me throughout the house, he shows me the bathroom, it has a tall glass shower with fancy marble on the counters. He shows me the guest bedroom and his bedroom, the rooms are all tidy, with nothing laying around. Then he leads me to the kitchen and I sit on one of the barstools for the island.
"It feels cozy," I comment. He brings out a pitcher and sets it on the stove, he pours water in it before turning to me and asking, "What type of tea do you like?"
I smile. "He cleans, cooks, and makes tea." But I get up and pull him away from the kitchen and point to the living room. "Go sit, I can make it."
"No, I can-"
"Ace," I shoot him a glance. "You need to relax, go sit."
He huffs before walking away, he sits on the couch and turns on the Tv as I bring the pitcher to the two cups and pour it. I bring out the green tea bags and put two in each before walking over and handing one to him. "Does anything help you relax?" I ask, sitting down beside him with my legs crossed. "For your attacks?"
He blinks before shaking his head and saying, "I deal with them myself, it's not a big deal." He passes me the remote. "Pick a movie."
I set the remote down and turn to him. "How long are you gonna do that for?"
He raises an eyebrow. "Do what?"
"Shut me out?"
He opens and closes his mouth before pressing his lips together. "I'm not used to people helping me," he manages to whisper.
"Well, I'm here now," I say, holding my hand out. "Hi, I'm Athena."
He furrows his brows at my hand before taking it softly. "Ace."
