Manager

Yumi's POV

It sucks that Kiyoko had to move last minute. Good thing I'm here though. I'll do my best. She trusts me to manage the team and I won't let her down. Although it does get a bit overwhelming being around giants all the time. I feel like a ant compared to these guys. As of now Asahi is the tallest but we are getting some new first years.

One is on the short side. One is like a skyscraper even taller than Asahi. Two are coming after school. I make my way to class. I've always been good at school maybe that's why I get picked on so much. That and guys have opinions about me. I walk up the stairs.

I hear some guys over talking about me. It gets irritating sometimes. I see why Kiyoko stayed to herself. I hear one walk towards me. To most guys I'm attractive. So a lot have attempted things and confessions.

I can see from the reflection of the window. "Is there a problem?" I hear Asahi say. "N-no sir!" The guy says. "Then I suggest you back off. She clearly doesn't want anything to do with you." He says. I look back at them. The guy runs off with his friends. "Thank you very much. Your intimidation is on point." I say.

"I wasn't even trying I was just saying." He says. I pat his arm "There there." I say. He's so timid it's cute. A big guy with a big heart. "So I was wondering what I could do to help you guys out as a manager?" I ask. "Well nothing honestly we can take care of ourselves." He says.

I look down and to the side. "Hold on what I meant to say was that you don't have to change anything! It's fine the way it is." He says nervously. "Okay then. Nothing at all though?" I say. "It'd be nice for you to just be there at the games and watch. It'd mean a lot to us. Plus you could cheer us on still but up close. It feels nice to have that one person who's always there. Like you always do. You come to every game. To watch and cheer us on. It makes me happy knowing that someone's out there for me." He says. I blush. For him? "I mean us yeah." He says with a smile rubbing his neck. He always does that.

Says something he likes. Something sweet then takes it back. "Then I'll do that." I say with a slight smile. I get to class. "See you after school." I say. "Yeah later." He says then walks off. Does he like me? It's hard to read him most of the time.

I sigh and sit at my desk. Maybe he doesn't want to like me. So he just slams the break when he says something sweet. It'd be nice to know if he'd tell me. I wish they could get a game or something so I can show him how much I care. With out it being that obvious. Daichi would probably kill him. Maybe that's why he won't say anything.

Time skip

I grab my bag and go to my locker. I get the surprises I made for them. I hope they'll like them. I customized these black bottles. It has our banner design it says in big letters fly with their name underneath. The other cups weren't cool and they were all the same. They could have been drinking after each other this whole time. I get to the locker room and change. I forgot we have that game with the other school around here tomorrow. It's not the same though. We normally win and it sucks. It's practice though. I finish getting changed.

I get the bag I have the cups in and go to the gym. There are two guys yelling at the door. "Excuse me." I say. They stop and I knock on the door. "Hey Yumi." Suga says. "Yumi what's up!" Tanaka says excited as always. He opens the door. "Hey I got a surprise for you guys." I say. He shuts the door.

"What is it?" They say. I go on to the court. "I made cups for everyone." I say pulling out their cups. I hand them out to the members. They like them. They thank me all at once. "I'm glad you like them." I say with a smile.

"So pure." They all say. I just look confused. "Okay guys the guys who we planned to play yesterday have decided to move it to today. So let's get ready." He says. The team goes and starts to stretch and do warm ups. "It was nice of you to do that." Daichi says. "I'm glad that you liked them." I say. "But you don't have to prove to them that you'll be a good manager. They know how much you help out and they appreciate that. So just do what you normally do and everything will be fine. Kiyoko already is proud of you for everything that you do. She wouldn't have chosen you if she thought you weren't a good fit. She always hoped you'd accept she has so much faith in you." He says.

I nod. He goes to warm up. I'm only left with Asahi's bottle. I look at the door. Maybe he decided not to come today. I just take it out of the bag and set it on the stage. He comes in.

I get the bottle. What if he doesn't like it? Tanaka goes up to him and shows him his bottle excitedly. I hold his bottle tight. No he probably just sees me as a friend. So it won't matter push those feelings down. I breathe out.

I go up to him. "Asahi." I say. "Hm?" He says. "I made this one for you." I say. "Thank you so much. It was nice of you to do this." He says. I nod. "I-I" I say.

The other team comes in. Way to ruin the mood. They're an okay team. It's just they need help in some areas. They brought their new members. This will be interesting.
