Chapter 5

Newt and Ryu stayed a few paces ahead of Emily, hand in hand. They didn't want to be rude, but they didn't want to talk to her.

'So are you guys going to share a room?' She asked.

Newt and Ryu glanced between each other. 'I-I guess so.' Newt said.

Ryu squeezed hand.

'That's so cool! If I had a boyfriend I'd love to stay in the same room.'

Ryu and Newt looked at each other, Ryu raising an eyebrow.

As the three of them explored the town further they came across a weird building which stood out from the others. It was giant, black and had the word 'HOTEL' spelled out in red over the top of the front doors.

They looked between each other.

'I believe we'll be staying there.' Emily remarked. 'There might be someone working there! We should go and check it out.'

Ryu shrugged. 'Might as well, it is quite likely someone's in there.'

Daniel and Silas had rowed as hard as they could to get the four of them to safety. They were out of breath and their muscles were weak.

'My God.' Michelle exhaled, heaving over, arms on her knees. 'We need to get out of here!'

Anuja nodded. 'Let's get the others... Blaineley will know what to do.'

The group headed away from the shore and they briskly walked back to the centre.

They kept an eye out for anyone but Anuja's eyes lit up at something else. A telephone box!

'Look!' She pointed, and the three turned.

'We need to call the Police.' Silas told them.

'No shit, sherlock.' Michelle muttered, as Daniel raced over. He entered, Anuja just behind him.

Daniel picked up the phone as he dialled 9-1-1. He waited to hear a beep, but he came up short as nothing came out. He looked at it in confusion when Anuja stepped in next to him. She followed the cord to realise it had been cut.

'Shit.' Daniel muttered. 'Looks like we're on our own.'

As the two left, Michelle and Silas went up to them.

'Well?' Michelle asked. 'Did you get through? Is anyone coming?'

Anuja shook her head. 'The phone cord was cut.'

'Fuck.' Michelle groaned.

As Newt, Ryu and Emily edged closer to the hotel, the giant building looming over them.

'Hopefully someone's in there.' Emily said.

As they got closer Newt started seeing something next to it.

'I think I see someone!' Newt smiled.

Getting closer, Ryu and Emily started seeing her as well. Newt was about to call out but Ryu's eyes went wide as he grabbed him, pulling him back.

'Oh my God.' He exhaled.

The figure was a woman in a white dress holding a knife out. She had a crazed look in her eye, as she stepped forward. The woman had a crazed look in here eye, and her pace started picking up as she got even closer.

'Run!' Ryu yelled, turning. The three of them started rushing, but before they knew what was happening daggers were being flung at them.

A knife blasted past Ryu's arm, another scathing Newt on the cheek. He groaned in pain whilst Emily screamed. They both got a narrow glimpse at her, Emily was lying on the ground a knife lodged in her lower back.

'Run!' Ryu ordered, and the two got as far away from the woman chasing them as they could.
