Chapter 8

Cirie saw the six of them in the distance celebrating. Her gut was telling her to reveal herself to them, to join them, after all she didn't even know if Jocelyn, Ellis or Giselle were still alive.

Steadily advancing Cirie was so close she could practically hear what they were saying. She frowned at hearing Blaineley was dead. She'd never been her favourite teacher, but she could've helped them out.

She stuck a foot out, but she turned back on herself. Cirie was going to look for another way out, and the safest way to do that would to be alone.

She slunk back away.

The group of six walked on together. They'd checked the entrance which was blocked off and after searching around, they gave up. The group had gone back on themselves as they ended up passing by Emily's cadaver.

The six of their hearts dropped at seeing her.

'It's so sad seeing her like this...' Newt sighed. He was going to stop by her, but Ryu who was holding his hand, kept walking, dragging him along with him.

'We don't have time Newt.' He said, muttering.

Newt didn't like this, but he understood. They had to keep going.

Michelle became unnerved at Emily, and Daniel noticed this, so he stepped back to walk next to her.

'How are you holding up?' He asked.

'How do you think?' She glared.

Daniel was about to say something but she sped up. Michelle started walking next to Ryu who turned and raised his eyebrows at her.

Michelle glanced up and down before smiling at him. Ryu registered this by raising only one eyebrow and smiling, but he turned his attention back to his boyfriend. Michelle rolled her eeys at this, but she decided not to comment.

Silas turned to Anuja. 'You're smart right?'

Anuja shrugged. 'I mean I guess so.'

'What do you think the chances of us making it out of here are?' He asked.

Anuja considered this. From what she'd seen they seemed pretty low, but she did want to be an optimist. 'I mean I guess we can always improve them for ourselves...' She suggested.

'You didn't answer the question.' Silas replied. But he replied with a soft smile. 'If we do both make it out of here by some miracle...'

'Yes?' Anuja asked.

'We should get coffee some time or something.' Silas suggested. Silas didn't know what he was saying, he was unsure whether it was the adrenaline or the life-death situation, but right now he couldn't help but find the nerd-girl irresistible.

'I'd like that.' She replied with a grin, her head held slightly higher then before.

Daniel glanced up to see the hotel. 'Should we go in?' He asked.

Ryu nodded. 'This woman seemed to be protecting it.'

'Woman?' Anuja asked, turning to him.

'Yeah.' Newt said. 'Blonde, white dress, she was holding knives.'

'Is she the one doing this?' Anuja asked.

Newt nodded.

With this knowledge the group carried along to the hotel, getting even closer then Ryu, Newt and Emily had done previously.

As they approached even closer Newt heard something, and he turned around. He screamed when he saw the woman, alerting the other five. The woman was so close to the group which frantically started splintering. She launched herself forward, and she plunged a weapon into Silas' neck. Silas started coughing up, and Anuja recoiled in horror. The five of them split off as the woman laughed.

Ryu rushed away from the group into an open area, with Michelle just behind him. He'd tried following Newt, but he went off with Anuja and Daniel, and he thought it would be best for the group to separate. At least that way that woman would have to leave at least one group alone.

'You alright Michelle?' Ryu asked. 'You're not injured?'

Michelle shook her head. 'I'm so scared Ryu.' She whispered.

'That's normal.'

'We're all going to die aren't we...'

Ryu turned to her. 'I'll tell you what I told Newt,'

She tensed up at the mention of his name.

'I can't promise that you're going to get out here alive, but I'll do what I can to protect you.'

'Thank-you.' She whispered. 'Thank-you Ryu.'

'Where are the others?' Daniel asked.

'Silas...' Anuja exhaled.

'We need to find Ryu!' Newt groaned.

The three of them were all panicking, which wasn't helping any of them. After all three had started to calm down, Daniel took charge.

'Guys.'

They turned to face him.

'We need to get going. She could still be chasing us.'

Anuja nodded. 'Yeah. We need to go,'

As the three picked up their pace they started to move around. Getting to the corner of a building they turned around it to surprisingly find a bar.

'Anyone want to stop for a drink?' Newt suggested.

Daniel didn't answer and Newt shook his head knowing he was unappreciated.
