There was no way of telling the time, of how long it had been since Cagney had left her down there. The only light was a thin ray that peaked under the door and stretched halfway across the room.

Angel had moved away from the door to lay across from it, shivering on the damp floor, her face red from all the crying she had done but her face was the only part with heat. The room just seemed to grow colder as time passed. And all poor angel could do was lay there and shiver and wait. She couldn't tell if it had been hours or days. She would doze off, have a nightmare and wake up. Still in that place, in that spot, still cold and alone.
There were a few times she thought she heard voices and once she swore she heard a gun shot. Where even was this place? Who were those people Cagney was with? She had never seen them before so they weren't from the woods. That much was for sure.

She slowly sat up with a groan and held her abdomen. Her poor baby was going through all of this with her...She just wished she could get some food. It felt like it had been days since she had eaten.

She stood on wobbling legs and made her way to the door, banging on it again, "Cagney! Cags please! I need you Cags!" She called, leaning on the door, tears rolling down her face. It was time to start playing her cards again. If Cagney wanted her to want him she would give that to him... but would have to do this carefully. She would have to be clever.

It wasn't long before she heard foot steps and she stepped back from the door, falling onto her knees and looking up as the door opened.
"What?" Cagney hissed.
She swallowed and tears rolled down her face. "Cagney..." She whispered, her voice sounding weak and relieved.
His eyes widened a bit and he knelt in front of her, inspecting her face. "A-angel?" He asked. Had...Had she managed to break free of that devil? Was she safe again?
She nodded. "Cags....Cags it's me...please..." She crawled forward, moving herself into his lap, pressing her face into his neck. "I don't wanna be down here anymore. I promise to be good." She whispered, wrapping her arms around his neck to pull him close. She prayed this worked. If this didn't work ahe wouldn't have another chance. He wouldn't believe her twice... but all she needed was once.

He hugged her tight and sighed, rubbing his hand up and down her back. "Ok babe. Let's get you upstairs. You can get cleaned up and meet my new crew." He told her as he gestured for one of the other flower heads to unlock her chains and once she was free he picked her up and carried her up the stairs.
They passed by some windows once they were up the stairs and she was able to make out a street sign. Cherrywood grove.
Where was that again? That was on the second isle. In the slum part of the city right? She could work with that.
Cagney gestured for the other guys to leave as he carried angel into a bedroom. It was a pretty simple room. A rough iron bed with a lumpy looking mattress and an old beat up wardrobe with one door. There was also a bathroom off to the side with a metal clawfoot tub. "This is my room but I don't mind sharing." He said as he sat her on the edge of the bed.
She smiled weakly at him. "Cagney...darling?" She said, adding a little extra hook to it.
He beamed, "yeah babe?" He asked.
"I'm hungry." She said softly. "May I have something to eat?" He nodded quickly. "Sure sure! Don't go anywhere I'll be back in a flash!" He said before heading out the door, locking it behind him. She quickly tested the door and rolled her eyes. Smart weed. She thought.
She them started quietly looking around the room for anything she could use as a weapon. Anything at all. The only thing she could find was a small shard of glass no longer than her finger but it would do in a pinch so she put it in her bra, being careful not to let it cut her. She then went to the Windows in the room but saw they were on the third story with no fire escape. She growled under her breath and bit her lip. Looked like the only way out was the door...well that or break her legs which she did consider but had to stop quickly and rush back to her spot on the bed and fold her hands neatly in her lap, looking up shyly as Cagney brought her a sandwhich and a water.
He smiled at her. She hadn't moved an inch. She really was back to her old self!
"Here ya go babe." He said, sitting next to her and handing her the plate of food. She happily accepted it and began to eat.
"Cags?" She asked as she ate.
"Hmm?"
"How long was I down there?"
"About a week." He told her, no remorse at all in his voice. It sounded as if to him that was like a 2 minute time out.
She looked up at him, a little shocked. "You left me down there about for a week?" She asked.
"Well over all you were down there for a week and a half. That pollen toxin really knocked you on your ass for a bit." He said, laying back against the bed.
She looked back down at the food in her lap and went back to eating silently. This fucking weed was going to let her die down there... He really was.

Cagney noticed she had grown quiet again and frowned, sitting up again. "Hey. What's with the sour face?" He asked, poking her cheek and she bit her lip. "Nothing I just... I didn't think you'd leave me alone for that long. I was...I was scared." She said, trying to sound weak and pathetic.
It worked because Cagney pulled her close. "Awww babe I'm sorry. There's nothing to be scared of now. Sooner or later the devil and that die will come looking for you and then me and my crew will beat them into the dirt." He told her.
She swallowed hard and closed her eyes. "Can I take a bath Cags? I feel grimey." She said, pushing away from him with a sheepish look on her face and he nodded. "Sure babe. Right in there. Just call if you need me." He said as he helped her off the bed and onto her feet.
She nodded and stumbled her way into the bathroom, shutting and locking the door and turning on the water to run a bath. She had to think of something she could do to get out of this room...
