Once the boys left, I turned back to the girls and my face immediately broke into a smile. I did a little happy dance and let out a short laugh.

"You're so lucky Daisy, what the hell?"

"Whatever do you mean?" I asked dramatically, walking back to the couch with the chips.

"Oh come on! The little glances, the last little conversation you had, he called you doll? My god, marry him right now or I will," Brook said, and I suddenly got sad again.

"God I wish I could," I said quietly. "He kissed me last night. It was so good, it felt so right and I was genuinely happy that it was happening. It was like, in that moment, I realized that I didn't only like him for his personality, but I was attracted to him too."

"Then what's the problem? Get it girl," Jess said, stealing a chip from me.

"So I was kissing him, but he stopped kissing back. I knew something had changed, but I didn't think he'd push me off of him and onto the couch until he did."

"Yikes," Lissa said. "Why did he push you?"

"I have absolutely no idea," I said, shrugging. "He has nightmares, so I helped him last night and he ended up holding me so close to him. I looked up at him to tell him something, and he was kissing me again. The same exact thing happened and I was on the floor next to the bed in seconds. Do you guys think it's because of how vocal I am with being with a lot of men and he doesn't like that?"

"If this man really kissed you twice, and then stopped abruptly, I think he has something for you, like genuinely. If it was because of what you were thinking, then there wouldn't have been a second kiss. He definitely wants you, Dais," Lissa said, sighing.

"Maybe It's because of his past trauma. Maybe he knows nothing's permanent and is afraid that if he gets too close to you, he might lose you," Jess said, shrugging.

"I really, really like him, what do I do about it?"

"I think you should constantly remind him that you're there. Remind him that you're not in danger." I told them about the balcony incident and how it was coincidentally Bucky who tried to kill me. "You're his unfinished mission then," Jess said. "He might be afraid that he's going to accidentally kill you if HYDRA gets control of his mind again. I think you need to install that arm ASAP and make sure he knows that it's all of your equipment, so they can't get to him anymore."

"He still has that head wire from HYDRA," I said, feeling my stomach sink.

"He doesn't know that, does he?" Lissa asked. I shook my head no. "Then what's the problem?"

"I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep it from him. I feel so guilty. If he ever finds out, he won't be able to trust me again and he'll still feel like HYDRA's in his head. Literally."

"Maybe keep reminding him that he's his own person?" Brook said, unsure of her words. "If you do that, then he'll start to be more sure that he can control his own actions and not be afraid of hurting you."

"We are making groundbreaking progress," Liss said with a smirk. "I'm literally so excited for you."

"I'm literally going to vomit," I said, putting my head in my hands. "I genuinely don't see how I can keep it from him."

"Maybe if you tell him, he won't be too upset about it," Brook said.

"He'd hate me forever," I said with a laugh. "I just need a drink," I said, standing up. I was immediately stopped by them. They stood up and made me sit down again.
