Word Count: 2025I didn't want to tell anyone about the conversation Tony and I had just in case it all fell through like most of my projects. Bucky and I went home and showered, eating dinner and cuddling on the couch afterward. While Bucky was in the shower, I found and called a trainer guy, Cody, and set up a time to train at the tower tomorrow.
I knew I should tell Bucky because he'll be in the gym most of the day and I won't be able to avoid him. I took an unsteady breath before talking to him.
"I've been thinking, and I decided to get a trainer just so you don't have to worry about it."
"Oh," he said, looking at me. "Why do you want to be able to fight so bad?"
"I want to make sure I can completely handle myself. And I want to be able to go to the gym without being questioned." I sighed quietly and grabbed his hand.
"Okay, doll. If that's what you want," he said, smiling down at me. "When will you start training?"
"Tomorrow around four P.M."
I had an average night and an average morning when I woke up. I worked alongside Alpine all day. I missed having Bucky next to me all the time, but it made the evenings better because we missed each other.
A few minutes before four, I headed down to the gym with Alpine. I figured he could be like an icebreaker between us. I was expecting to meet everyone there, but the gym was empty except for a younger looking muscular man.
"Hey, I'm Daisy," I said, introducing myself to him. "And this is Alpine," I said, motioning to the cat on my shoulder. He started doing this to me today, and I felt cool having him up there.
"I'm Cody," he said, reaching his hand out to shake mine.
I got stretched out before we started training. He was a pretty funny person. He wasn't very nice, though, and he was extremely assertive. About an hour into the session, everyone came back into the gym. I was in the ring fighting Cody.
"Hey guys," I said, pausing our fight. I saw Alpine immediately make his way to Bucky. "This is Cody."
"Hey," he said to everyone.
He got a mixed response of heys and other greetings. They went to either run or lift weights. We went back to sparring and when I'd mess up, he'd make a joke about it.
"You're supposed to be punching me, not tapping me with your fists, angel."
"I don't want to do something wrong or hurt you."
"Trust me, you can't, sweetheart," he said, getting ready to fight me again.
After about ten minutes of more fighting, he told me to take a five minute break. I grabbed my water and made my way over to Bucky who was lifting weights with Alpine wrapped around the back of his neck.
"How warm is he keeping you?" I asked, drinking some water.
"Extremely," he said with a laugh.
"I'll take him up to Wanda," I said, setting my bottle down and grabbing him off of his neck. "Gimme kiss," I said, looking up at him. He set the weights down and gave me a kiss.
"See you in a minute, doll."
"Bye," I said, getting into the elevator with Alpine in my arms. He climbed up to my shoulder, leaving scratch marks on the way.
I dropped him off with Wanda and made my way back down. The elevator stopped more than I expected. When I finally got down there, I was almost immediately yelled at.
