I heard a knock at the door, and both of us looked at it. He went to get it, but I stopped him.

"Keep making dinner, I'll get it," I said, standing up from the couch.

He followed me to the door anyways and watched me open it. I saw Liss crying on the other side of the door with a few bags in her hands. She dropped the bags to her side before grabbing me into a hug. She continued to cry into my neck. I pulled her inside, rubbing her back, and motioned for Bucky to get the bags inside and shut the door.

After a minute or so, I got her on the couch, and she continued to cry on my shoulder, but she started to calm down a little bit. Bucky went back to making dinner, getting out more ingredients, probably for Liss. She wiped her eyes gently before looking down at her hands.

"Sam and I got into a little fight," she said gently. "And to make matters worse, someone on the sidewalk outside told me I was crying too dramatically."

"Hey, that has nothing on that one girl with the weird black eyes who told me there was a special place in Hell reserved for Starks. She was really scary, too."

"I remember that," she said, sniffling. She let out a small laugh, remembering that day.

I could tell she wanted to talk about Sam, but was either too scared or uncomfortable. I wrapped my arms around her and squeezed to comfort her, not caring about my wrist. It hurt really bad, but it wasn't important.

"Did he hurt you?" I asked with a panicked tone. She shook her head.

"This whole time he thought we were just a friends with benefits sort of thing."

"That's bullshit. You've been living in his room for the past few weeks, right?"

"Yeah, and apparently every time we just cuddled was out of friendship and nothing more," she said, wiping her nose. "I-I thought that we were on the same page, so I told him that I loved him. He freaked out and kicked me out of his room without warning. I came here because I didn't want to be alone."

"I'm so sorry, Lissy," I said, still hugging her. "Men are trash."

"I know," she said, letting out a stifled laugh.

"I think you should've established what you guys were from the start," I said, trying to give her advice. "But you were always hanging out with him and everyone. I don't understand."

"You want to talk to me about establishing things when you had a panic attack in the elevator when Bucky asked you what you guys were?" She asked, tilting her head slightly. I looked over at Bucky, but he didn't seem to hear her.

"Listen, I'm good at giving advice, but I don't listen to myself," I said quietly, resting my head on her shoulder. "Do you need me to go and kick his ass? Because I will."

"No no no," she said and shrugged. "Maybe this was all my fault. Maybe I should apologize and go back to being friends with benefits with him."

"No," I said, shaking my head. I returned my wrist to the ice pack, it started to hurt more. "You said you never thought of you guys being that, so why settle for something less than what you want and something that's more depressing?"

"I guess you're right."

"I'm always right," I said, rubbing her left shoulder with my good hand. We leaned our heads together and I sighed gently. "That picture of you guys at the tower's pool was just supposed to be two friends? No way."

"He was literally holding my lower back. Friends don't do that."

"Maybe you just scared him a little and this whole thing will get better." She shrugged as a response, sighing.
