TW: Light Smut
Word Count: 2100"Do you want to go get lunch with me?" I asked, looking at Pepper at her desk. "It's been a while," I said, shrugging.
"Hey," she said, looking at me. "Give me about fifteen minutes and we'll go. You can wait on that couch if you want to."
"Alright."
I sat on the couch and grabbed my phone from my bag. I played some games until Pep stood up.
"What happened to your hand?" She asked, walking over to me. I stood up so we could leave.
"Bucky gets nightmares, so I'm guessing he accidentally pushed me out of bed," I said, laughing. "It's really no big deal."
"That sounds terrible though," she said as we walked down the hallway.
"He's getting better. It's my fault for hurting my hand a while ago and not doing anything about it."
"At least he's getting better."
We had a nice lunch at a casual restaurant. Halfway through the lunch, I got a text from Bucky. I looked at it.
"Where did you go?" He texted.
"Lunch with Pep."
I put my phone away after that, focusing on spending time with Pepper. I haven't been able to do this in a while, so we both had a lot to tell each other. It's crazy to think that a few years ago she and I were talking every single day only because she was the only other person I could tolerate at the mansion.
We both talked about our relationships and she was particularly careful about talking about hers and Tony's, probably so she didn't make me uncomfortable. We headed back to the tower, and I went with her to her office for a few minutes because there were some things she wanted to show me that dealt with the company.
"It was so good to hang out with you again," I said, giving her a hug.
"You too," she said, hugging me back. "Take good care of your wrist."
"I'll try," I said, leaving her office.
I pulled out my phone while I was in the elevator and called Bucky. The phone rang a few times before he picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hey. I'm going to my lab to grab a few things and then I'm going to go pick up my prescription. The doctor said to take the next few days off to rest the wrist. Do you want to come with me?"
"I wish I could, doll, but Steve and I have been pretty busy."
"Okay, that's fine," I said, walking out of the elevator. "I'll see you tonight then?"
"Yep. Rest the hand and relax, babydoll," he said gently and I felt a strange, but good feeling in my chest when he called me that.
"I'll try to," I said, stumbling over my words slightly.
"Something wrong?"
"Not at all. Don't stay at the tower too late. I'll have something for you when you get home." I heard him chuckle lightly.
"I'd hate to keep you waiting. Bye Dais."
"Bye Buck. Wait! One more thing."
"What's up?"
"I'm going to have to bring stuff home from work and I'm not going to be able to carry it all up to the apartment. When you get home tonight, could you please bring me the bags? If not, it's no big deal."
