Background:
Ishii Sayuri was born in Tokyo, Japan. She was orphaned at a very young age due to the mysterious disappearance of her parents. A couple of years after Oroku Saki betrayed the Hamato Clan and reestablished the Foot Clan, Saki planned a series of attacks on many orphanages. He hoped that he could recreate Noah's formula and use it on all the children he took in, as his experiments. Unfortunately for Saki, Takao heard of his plans and cleared the orphanages before the Foot could hit them. Angered by this, Saki temporarily abandoned these plans and devoted his time in Japan building his clan and reputation. When all of his attempts to recreate Noah's formula failed, he abandoned the project completely.
Sayuri was one of many saved by Takao and his new Clan. From a young age, she trained under Takao. She proved to be a skilled and dedicated warrior. At fifteen she volunteered to join the Foot Clan, acting as a spy for the Adachi Clan (it was at this time she also decided to officially abandon her old name and change it to Sasha). Takao wanted to send some of their older members and not risk her safety. Sasha convinced Takao that it was smarter to send her on the basis that the Shredder would be less suspecting. Reluctantly, Takao agreed. Sasha devised a tragic story in order to persuade Saki to accept her. And it worked.
She befriended Karai and proved her fake loyalty to the Shredder's clan. When Shredder heard word of Yoshi being in New York City, he left Sasha along with his other trusted soldiers. During this time, Sasha sabotaged many of Shredder's other operations in Japan.
