It has been seven years since Kageyama and Tsukishima have been dating, Tsukishima had confessed to Kageyama when they were second years, and now they're both working, unfortunately they weren't living together, though Kageyama comes to Kei's house regularly.
Tsukishima was busy looking through proposal rings, but he just could not find the right one. A week had already passed since he first started looking, Kei wanted the proposal to be perfect for his boyfriend, especially the ring. As he continued scrolling down the website, looking through the variety of rings that were displayed on the screen. An advertisement had popped up on the screen, it was about a shop that specialised in custom made proposal rings. Thank god for that cause Tsukishima had the perfect idea for it.
He wasn't going to lie, it was not the most formal thing, even the shop clerk laughed at the idea but to him, it was special- and maybe perfect for his dense soon to be husband...hopefully.
When he finally was content with the design of the ring, he was told that it would take three weeks for it to be made, so while he waits for that he started planning on the venue. He knew that Tobio likes flowers, so maybe a pressed flower workshop, though Kei wanted it to be just the two of them when he did it. Definitely not the beach, there would be way too many people, plus that would be pretty darn cliche. "Maybe an art date- i could reserve a studio"
While Tsukishima was busy planning the date out, Kageyama was busy staring at his ceiling, he was wondering about why Kei has been so distant lately, it was getting slightly suspicious. Usually Tobio would be over at Kei's house cuddling with him. Nowadays he's always busy, Kageyama pressed his head into his pillow, he missed Kei.
Back to Tsukishima- he got a call from the shop that the ring was finally done, when he reached the shop he was amazed to see a little dinosaur gorgeously designed on the ring, it was embedded with small diamonds around it. It looked incredibly lovely. Thanks to Kei's influence, Tobio was not only obsessed with volleyball but now and forever- also dinosaurs.
Kei definitely had his worries, maybe Tobio would hate the ring, maybe it would have been better if he just got a normal one- his head was getting clouded by negative thoughts as he gently place the ring back into the box and drove back home. Thankfully, he had Tadashi to help him with it, one thing led to another but his biggest worry was that Kageyama would reject it. At this point Yamaguchi was just laughing at him, he knew more than anything how much Kageyama loves his boyfriend. In fact, Kageyama had once asked him why Tsukishima was taking so long to propose. Yamaguchi then reassured his best friend that Kageyama was definitely going to say yes.
The day of the proposal soon came, usually Kageyama would be doing his morning run but he decided to skip today. Just so he could spend more time cuddling with Kei. On the other hand the blond was too busy being anxious to enjoy the warmth he was getting from his lovely boyfriend.
"Hey Kei.. where exactly are we going today?"
...."It's a surprise" Kageyama was left alone with his question as Tsukishima got up from the bed to get ready for their day out.
The morning started out with Kei driving to the place, Tobio still had no idea where they were headed, but he trusted it wasn't anything bad. But when Kageyama first stepped out of the car he was met by an array of vivid paintings in front of him- he remembered telling Tsukishima that his grandfather brought him here before when Kageyama was pushing himself too much when he played volleyball, so this was a reassuring place for him.
Tsukishima had specially reserved the art studio so that the two can enjoy the privacy- especially so they wouldn't receive stares. The two spent their time in the studio drawing random objects they saw, till Tsukishima asked Kageyama if he could draw him. Kageyama was obviously caught off guard by this but he agreed anyways. And someway or another they ended up playing around with paint- it was meant to be used for finishing the potrait Tsukishima drew of him but since Kageyama was getting bored he decided to smear some on his boyfriend's face- Kei was irritated but nevertheless he wanted to have fun.
So they basically ended up getting paint all over themselves- it was a good feat. After laughing like idiots the two finally calmed down and started drawing what the two both loved- Dinosaurs~
Unintentionally Kageyama had drawn a dino that was wearing glasses, similiar to the pair that blonde wears.
The latter did something similar, but instead of glasses there was a crown nicely fitted on it's head, paired along with a scowl.
As they both glanced at what each other drew they burst out in a fit of laughter once again...Kei felt like this was the right moment.
Hey Tobio- you know, i really love you right...
Remember how we talked about living together- thinking about all the stuff we would do- like how you wanted to order dino plushies. You cuddling with the pets- I really want to make that happen. So...Tobio would you be my king.
Tsukishima pulled out the dinosaur ring- noticing how he started covering his fave with his hands clearly trying to hide his blush. Kageyama's was at a loss for words- he could only nod his head as he felt tears trickle down his face- he wasn't able to express just how happy he was but he knew, Tsukishima would understand how he was feeling. Kei gently placed the ring unto Tobio's finger then lightly placing a chaste kiss on his hand.
The two pressed their foreheads against each other, gazing into each other's eyes, knowing that their lives were now going to be filled with each other. They contently smiled, awaiting the day that soon awaited them.
