This is Where I Belong

The melodious tunes of your flute which are like drops of honey, are drank by my thirsty ears who wish to never stop drinking the nectar of your laughter the crashing water of the river Yamuna shares my wishes as she desperately tries to touch your feet by throwing her waves at them taking a second to be a million years I shed a tear in your absence forgetting the world I search only for the dark-hued one
The soft wind carries your presence to me leaving me in awe of your sweet scent
About to faint, your hands touch my shoulder sending waves of ecstasy through my shuddering body
Opening my eyes I look for you, seeing you nowhere I drop my hopes which are suddenly raised up like a blooming flower in the spring as you step in front of me
A slight smile on your face you say something that I can't catch
Seeing my confusion a sweet sound comes out of your mouth
My ears drink it all up
You come closer bringing your mouth down to my ear you whisper, "I know it's been long, but I'm here now and I'm all yours, forever"
Your sweet, nectar like voice which had the capability to enchant all three worlds sends a shiver through me
Looking at me once again you hold my face in your hands
Your eyes are filled to the brim with your everlasting compassion and love
Without words you send the oceans of ecstasy and love to me with a single look
I can't speak
How can I
When you're standing right there in front of me
How can I move
How can I look anywhere else
When all that matters is right here
Finally is all I can mutter
Finally it is, all those years and lives
all led up to this very moment, only this moment
The sun was rising, the pious rays hit your sweet face turning it into a mine of a thousand diamonds
Feeing as if I was going to go blind in your beauty
We moved into the shade, even then your face looked like the autumn moon which had the potency to drive me blind once more
Closing my eyes I stood there
Seeing the trouble that was arising within me, you laughed
My ears took it all in, oh how beautiful was that laugh
Knowing my desires you laughed more
Again my ears drank and drank, just as they wanted to for an eternity
Feeling you to be gone I opened my eyes
I sighed in relief seeing you still there
"I will never leave, I hope you can deal with me!" You joked
Looking down a quick smile appeared on my face
Taking my hands in your lotus hands which were the color of a ripe Bimba fruit you guided me deeper into an intertwined forest
The trees rose up and wrapped around each other
The vines each adorned with flowers of various colors climbed onto the trees
The slight buzz of the bees filled the air accompanied with the chirps of the nectar like voice of the birds
What seemed like a 100 butterflies appeared, all of different colors, they came and sat on your dark hued body as you pulled me away even deeper into the forest
We went farther and farther, the trees were so intertwined to the point where very little drops of sunlight fell through
There was a beautiful pond, glowing, it shone in the dark
Sitting atop the pond were many lotus flowers of different colors, all glowing
The fish swam freely within the water, also glowing
It was a small clearing within the forest
Each flower on the vines were glowing
It all lit up the place with a peaceful light
I turned towards you
You were glowing more than ever
The beauty of your body was even more beautiful than before
From your pitambhar to the peacock feather upon your head you shone like a thousand suns
"Here we are", you said
"It's beautiful," I replied in complete awe
A beautiful swing appeared beside us, decorated with the most beautiful of flowers
He sat me down onto the swing then sat beside me
He pulled out his flute
At this moment I envied that flute
All the pious activities that could be done in the whole world, had to be accomplished by this very flute only
This flute has dedicated its whole life to you my Madhav
It's parents must be the most proud, proudest of all
Their child has become the property of the very sweet lips of my murlidhar
Interrupting my thoughts came your melody
Your divine melody
It rang through the clearing and eventually it was heard in all three worlds
Approaching us were the most fortunate animals that resided in this forest
They sat at your lotus feet lost in the melody just as I was
Putting my head on your shoulder which had become my very safe place
I focused on that tune
It was a different type of tune
A holy one, a divine one, it was peaceful, the peace you get after the many years of trying to be enlightened
Enlightenment, peace, joy, everything was all situated in the very notes that appeared from your flute
The forest became silent and all there was , was your flute
Every being swayed to the tune
This is where I belong I though
With you, with my head on your shoulder
And my heart finally at ease...
