Chapter 2: Innocence

Astrid's POV

"NERD!!!" Megan yelled at me and throw the burger to me that she is eating minutes ago. I'm here at the playground trying to have some alone time but this girl won't leave me alone.

"What do you want!" I yelled back at her. I'm scared of her because she's bigger than me but I need to be brave.

"Wow you're already fighting back huh?" sabi niya at tinulak ako bigla sanhi ng pagkatumba ko.

"Ouch! Why did you that?" I exclaimed because I fell in the ground and it hurt me so much.

"Because you're a nerd and ugly girl with braces! Hahaha" she said cockily and laugh out loud. I can't do anything so I'll just have to cry until she leave me alone but I guess she's hard headed than I thought. She kick my leg which made me groaned in pain again, I'm a skinny kid so that hit is already hurting me.

"You're such a heartless person" I muttered crying.

"What's happening here?" A teacher suddenly showed up in the ground holding a book. Megan immediately run to avoid and to hide from the teacher.

"Astrid okay ka lang ba?" the teacher asked me.

"No Ma'am. My leg hurt and my knee is bleeding when I fell to the ground which Megan pushed me" I reported.

"That brat. Get up let's go to the clinic" ika niya at tinulungan akong tumayo dahil nahihirapan ako maglakad. We went to the clinic to clean my wound and they already call my parents to report this incident. The office also called Megan's parents at sabay dumating sa school ang parents naming dalawa. 

"Baby are you okay? Nasaktan ka ba?" Mom asked me as long they reached the office.

"Astrid your knee is bleeding, do you need anything?" Dad asked and touch my head to comfort me.

"I'm okay Dad it's just I can't walk properly because of the wound" I replied. Tiningnan niya ang parents ni Megan at hindi namin akalain ang susunod niya ginawa.

"Magulang ba talaga kayo, ha? Why don't you teach your daughter how to be respectful to others?!" he blurted out in a sudden. Mommy beside him is trying to make his calm.

"I'm really sorry Gabriel, they're just kids and we can't---" Megan's Father mumbled but he didn't had a chance to finish what he's going to say when Dad punch him in the face.

"Anong they're just kids putanginamo! Don't give me a lame reason just to protect your child. It's your obligation to teach her a manner instead of spoiling her!" he yelled to the man again. The office staffs can't control my Father's anger dahil hindi din siya nagpapapigil and because my Dad have a power and influence in the country so they can't just stop him.

"Gabriel may mga bata" Mom interrupted him afterwards and his face became soft.

"I just apologized you bastard!" My father's expression filled with anger again because of what he said. Megan is already crying and pulling his Father's shirt just to make him calm. 

"Ako pa talaga gago satin dalawa, ha? Hindi mo ba kilala ang binabangga mo?" Dad mumbled and about to attack him again but I held his polo.

"Dad please stop" I said crying, I don't want to see him like this because of me.

"See? I told you to stop fighting!" Mom suddenly burst out. Great! Siya naman ngayon ang galit.

"Hindi pa tayo tapos Mendez" sabi ni Daddy sa lalaki at hinakawan na kami ni Mama at tuluyan na lumabas ng school. Walang umiimik sa kotse habang nasa byahe kami pauwi, I know they're both mad because of what happened back there. I shouldn't have told to the teacher what happened to avoid that kind of situation, It feels like it's all my fault that's why it happened.
