Age is a small word
With complications filled all around
The most complicated and lonely
Is the 'platinum age'
Consisting of the most precious gems
Most respectable yet neglected
This is what we call the old age
Heart filled with greed of love
Though they are surrounded by people
Body with limited strength
And always ready for eternal peace
Oh! what a life it is !
This maybe some people's reaction
But no, that is not what old age is all about
It is about the growing restlessness
The worm trigging the minds from rest
The want to have their life on rewind
Yet the wish of getting peace at last
Is the common battle in the mind
But in the swirls of all these thoughts
There, deep within the heart and soul
Lies the need of that child
Whom they had once pampered
To come and reassure them
'Don't worry we are here with you
To get through this platinum age
With love, tender care, us and you.'
