Evelyn's P.O.V

I was about to go to sleep until I saw Sarah's message. It's not unusual for her to send what I assume to be platonic 'I love you's' but that doesn't stop the blush that takes over my face. As such, I went downstairs to my Kitchen-Livingroom to make a cup of coffee.

Alex's uncle, a kind-looking man that looks to be his sister's twin (Who I learned is named Laura, her brother Liam), came at around 7pm so I can leave to my night classes. Alex wished me luck and stated she was excited about tomorrow. I, on the other hand, am very nervous.

"Lucy?" The demon cat looks at me with his golden eyes.

"How does life get so complex yet simple. I mean..... I don't know." I stir a French Creamer into my now brewed coffee. I don't plan to stay up, but drinking caffeine and immediately going to bed saves hours on sleep.

I am probably addicted to it now, aren't I? Yet another mistake. Lucy is trying to comfort me by rubbing against my legs.

"..... You're probably the only one that relies on me yet doesn't expect me to be perfect, Lucy." I bend down to pet him.

"Evelyn, hello!" Alex's mom opens the door, a bit too quickly, as she is partway out the door.

Hello Laura. Would it be alright if I take Alex out today? I won't take her to any dangerous, scandalous, sketchy-"

Laura laughs, "Dear, I trust you. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and appear to be a responsible young lady. No need to convince me."

..... She trusts me way too much. I'm glad she hired me and not some drifter to take care of her daughter.

I chuckle a bit when Alex comes outside, already dressed in a plain pair of Demin overalls over a striped red and white shirt, and says goodbye to her mother.

"I like your clothes."

"Thanks! I wanted to match you!" She gestures to what I have on; a red longed sleeved shirt with white jeans. She took a lucky guess with the red and white and I commend her for it.

"Are we going out for breakfast?!"

I give her a polite laugh.

"Of course not. I don't have the money to pay for both of our breakfast. Let's see what your mom has prepared. We'll go to a park right after."

As we're going in, an idea forms.

I quickly send a message to Sarah.
