Part 9: The Fourth Day

The scene changes and Roxas is asleep in his room. He wakes up quickly and looks around his room. He sighs and sits up, putting his hands on the bed. "Right... Promise..." He says to himself. He pretends he has a sword in his hand and swings at the air. "What a mess..." He says, annoyed, scratching the back of his head.

~The Fourth Day~ 

Roxas ran into the alleyway outside the Usual Spot. There was a passerby standing there. "Hurry to the Sandlot! You're gonna be late!" The passerby said, pointing to the Sandlot, Roxas nodded. Roxas entered the Sandlot and there were many people there with a huge ring in the centre of the Sandlot, Pence and Olette are two of the spectators. "Who're you gonna root for? Pence asks Olette. 

"Both of them, silly." Olette answers, giggling, Pence just nods his head. Fireworks go off in the background as people cheer loudly. The announcer starts speaking. "Ladies and gentlemen, Struggle-fiends of Twilight Town! It's time for summer's most sizzling clash! That's right! Today is the day for the struggle and title match!" He announces, the crowd cheer louder. "Who will be the one to break through the ranks and take on our champion Setzer?" He asks rhetorically. 

"Seifer, y'know?" Rai shouts.

"And who will leave today as our new Struggle Champion!?" He asks.

"Hayner! Roxas!" Pence and Olette both shout in unison.

"Setzerrr!" The rest of the crows shout where on the crowd start chanting Setzer's name. Setzer is the reigning champion of the Struggle tournament, he is arrogant and cocky and doesn't take losing as an answer. He wears a long purple cloak, lined with a golden silk. He has the Champion Belt over his shoulder on which he lifts up proudly in the air. "Yes, the crowd is fired up, so you know what comes next:" The announcer says. "Let's... STRUGGLE!" He shouts, holding his hands up in the air as more fireworks go off. Biggs takes stage as the next announcer. "Hey, now. It's time to introduce today's combatants! The four bad boys who struggled their way through the preliminaries!" He says, going to list the combatants off.

"Regular finalist and head of the Twilight Disciplinary Committee: Seifer!" 

"Completely out of nowhere - who knew he'd make it so far THIS year? Vivi!" 

"An underground favorite and local attitude problem: Hayner! It's his first trip to the finals!" 

"And Struggler number four, who happens to be my absolute favorite customer: Roxas!" He concludes.

"So, who will win this sweltering summer Struggle!? Who will take home the grand prize? The summa cum laude of Struggle- the Four Crystal Trophy! AND a chance to take on our defending champion, Setzer! It won't be long now folks! I suggest our challengers go over the official Struggle Rules before we begin!" He explained. Roxas headed over to the ruleboard and the assistant read out the rules.

"You know the rules, but a refresher can't hurt. It's easy! You've each got 100 orbs. Attack to take away your opponent's orbs. That's all you have to do. Land a hit and your opponent will drop orbs. But if you're hit, you'll be the one losing orbs, so watch out! Keep collecting orbs. When the match is over, the participant with the most orbs wins the match. When you're ready, go talk to the tournament promoter. He's in the ring." He concluded, they all nodded their heads and went their separate ways. Roxas checked the tournament tree. The first match was scheduled as. ROXAS VS HAYNER.
