Chapter 4: The Second Day

After Roxas' dream. He woke up and sat up sharply. He held out his hand. "A key... blade?" Roxas mutters.

~The Second Day~

Roxas walked from his apartment, through the Sandlot to an alleyway leading to the Usual Spot. He stopped and turned to the side, he saw a stick lying against the wall. "A Keyblade." Roxas says to himself. He walks over and picks up the stick, slapping it against his hand a couple of times, then starts striking and slashing at the air, he shrugs his shoulders. "What was that about..?" Roxas asks himself as he throws the stick behind him. It hits the man in the black hood but he doesn't flinch at all. "Oh. Sorry... About that..." Roxas says, but the man ignores him and walks towards the Sandlot. Roxas walks into the Usual Spot and the rest of the gang are eating sea-salt ice cream, Hayner got one for Roxas and offers him it. "Thanks." Roxas says and takes it from Hayner.

"Do you guys think we'll always be together like this?" Pence asks.

"I sure hope so." Olette answers.

"Huh? Where did that come from?" Hayner questions.

"Uh. Well. You know. Just thinking out loud." Pence replies. 

"Well, I doubt we can be together forever. But isn't that what growing up's all about?" Hayner asks, eating a bit of the ice cream. "What's important isn't how much we see each other, but how often we think about each other. Right?"  Hayner says philosophically. Pence just laughs at Hayner. "Get that off a fortune cookie?" Pence jokes.

"That's it. No more ice cream for you." Hayner answers sternly. "Man, today's turning out to be a drag." Hayner says tiredly. 

"Maybe because of yesterday's memory thief." Olette speculates.

"Nuh-uh. You know what it is? We don't want summer vacation to be over. That's all!" Hayner questions and answers. Pence shrugs his shoulders to Olette. Hayner jumps down from the box he was sitting on top of and walks forward. "So, what about this? We all go to the beach! And why do we go to the beach? Because we haven't gone once in this entire vacation! Blue seas! Blue skies! Let's just get on the train and GO!" Hayner turns around and smiles. None of the others answer. "No? Aww, c'mon!" Hayner pleads, folding his arms. 

"Maybe you forgot, but we're broke." Roxas adds.

"Maybe you forgot I'm smart." Hayner snarks, pointing at himself. Hayner, Pence and Olette run off and leave Roxas in the Usual Spot. Pence runs back to check on Roxas. "Hurry up, Roxas!" Pence tells Roxas. Pence runs off, Roxas follows. Hayner and Olette were waiting outside. "We're going to Market Street!" Hayner shouts as they run off to the Market Street. Roxas quickly follows. 

Roxas walks into Market Street and Hayner, Pence and Olette are at the side of the street, in front of a poster. The poster has STRUGGLE printed on it in huge, bold letters. "Just two days to go." Hayner says. "You and I have to make the finals! That way, no matter who wins, the four of us split the prize!" Hayner explains.
