"I'm Erica." I say to the newest Petrova. I can't believe I've finally met one of them. They look identical, so I recognize her easily.

"Elena. You're family tried to kill my friends." I stare at her shocked.

"Have you met my dad? His names Elijah, he doesn't know I exist." Her face turns from hatred to shock.

"You're Elijah Mikealsons daughter?" I nod. "But he's a vampire, that's impossible!" I nod again.

"Ms. Mikaelson, pay attention." I look up at the board and ignore the temptation to roll my eyes. I instead sigh and lean on my desk. I look over at Elena and see a folded piece of paper in her hand. She leans over and hands it to me, then slowly slides back into her previous sitting position. I unfold it and read what it says.

Eat lunch with us. We can tell you about your dad.

I nod at her and then turn my attention back to the teacher. I see "Civil War" written on the board and I groan. I've only learned about this 14 times.

The bell rings and I take a deep breath. Elena wants me to go to lunch with them, so I guess I have to. I hope Bailey Bennet sits with them. She was hot. Like super hot.

"Ms. Mikealson, is like you to stay for a few minutes please." Mr. Saltzman says in front of the whole class. I nod and watch all them leave. I stand up, grab my stuff, and he walks over to me.

He pulls out a dagger from his boot and presses it to my neck. "What do you want from our town?! You're brothers already came and are wreaking havoc! How many more of you are there?" I look at him shocked.

"Please... they're not my siblings... my dad-" I stop talking when he realize his mouth has dropped. "Elijah, he's my father, but he doesn't know about me."

"Vampires can't procreate." I nod.

"He got my mother pregnant when he was still human. Then his parents turned him and my aunt and uncles, then they ran away. My grandmother put a curse on me, I'm only awake when a Petrova doppelgänger is alive. This is my third time being awake, and I'm just trying to find my father and cancel this curse. Caroline told me you are one of the good guys, I just want to figure out why this is so messy, so please don't hurt me." He sighs and pulls the dagger away from my throat and back into his boot.

I take his retreat as a peace treaty, and walk out of the classroom. What has my family done to make these people hate us so much.

I walk into the cafeteria searching for Elena, and then Bailey walks up to me. I blush when she gets close enough to me that I can see how beautiful she is, and she smiles at me.

"Hey, are you okay, Erica?" She asks. I nod, but she rolls her eyes. "I know the people here. How are you really?" I give a light laugh and sigh.

"This is all just a lot to take in. My last name precedes me, and I've never even met the people that everyone associates it with." She gives me a sympathetic smile and I smile back. She then grabs my hand and pulls me to a table with four other people. I take a deep breath and prepare for the trail I'm sure I'm about to get.
