[ 8 ] Sugawara Koushi x Male reader

Title: Music Love

Daichi and Suga have been dating for months, everyone practically knows about the relationship and sees how happy they are together. But happiness does not last forever, especially when you catch feelings for someone else. In this case, Daichi caught feelings for the captain of the girls' volleyball team, he knows he shouldn't feel this way but he had eyes for Michimiya now not Suga and no matter how many times he tells himself they have a great relationship together he cannot help but want her. So he broke the news to Suga and they broke up, the team doesn't know they broke up other than Asahi and Kyoko because word travels fast in the third year corridor.

Suga refused to let the breakup change who he is to the team, behind closed doors was an entirely different story, he gave Daichi the cold shoulder occasionally or pretends he doesn't hear him. Daichi doesn't blame Suga for feeling like that, especially after he and Michimiya became a thing in two months, but he didn't allow his dating life to get in the way of getting to nationals it was his dream to go.

The first years start walking around trying to look for the third years and they see Daichi and Michimiya walking together instead of Suga and that's when they started spying on the two wondering what was happening. The first years followed them to the boys' volleyball gym and they all see Michimiya kiss Daichi who returns the kiss, they were all shocked even Tsukishima who usually can tell when something was going on didn't know this. Kageyama and Hinata were the first to start yelling at Daichi wondering how he could cheat on Suga which got the attention of the other third years and second years from inside the gym. "Guys it's not what you think. You see Suga and I. We didn't work out." He tells them.

Suga wasn't there when Daichi was informing the team but that doesn't mean he wasn't listening. After hearing that Daichi and Michimiya were in a relationship it broke him and he ran out and slammed the door to the gym. Daichi called out to Suga but Tsukishima and Asahi held him back, "He needs time to himself obviously you hurt him why should you be the one to help him." Tsukishima says cold as ever. Daichi only nodded and started practice without Suga knowing he and the team needed something to get the news out of their minds.

Suga had no destination but he knew he had to go somewhere private, and when he finally stopped and opened his eyes he found himself in front of one of the many music rooms Karasuno had. This music room had a piano playing and singing coming from inside. "Walking down 29th and park. I saw you in another's arm, only a month we've been apart. You look happier~." Suga hears a guy sing sadly.

Suga quietly opens the doors as the guy continues to sing, "Saw you walk inside a bar, he said something to make you laugh. I saw the both your smiles were twice as wide as ours. Yeah, you look happier, you do."

Suga recognizes who's singing, it was an old friend of his that always was there for him when he needed it. After not getting any classes with the third year they sort of stopped talking daily but they still texted and stayed in touch. "Ain't nobody hurt you like I hurt you, but ain't nobody love you like I do~. Promise that I will not take it personal, baby. If you're moving on with someone new, cause baby you look happier, you do!"

Y/N starts getting more into his lyrics and was getting a bit more emotional as this was a song he made when Suga and he stopped contacting each other daily and when he saw Suga and Daichi kiss the day he finally worked up the courage to confess. "My friends told me one day I'll feel it too! And until then I'll smile to hide the truth~! But I know I was happier with you! Sat in the corner of the room, everything's reminding me of you~, nursing an empty bottle and telling myself you're happier aren't you~."

Suga get's closer to Y/N subconsciously wanting to hug him again but didn't dare interrupt his amazing performance, "Oh, ain't nobody hurt you like I hurt you~But ain't nobody need you like I do, I know that there's others that deserve you, but my darling, I am still in love with you~. But I guess you look happier! You do! My friends told me one day I'll feel it too! I could try to smile to hide the truth~. But I know I was happier with you!"

Y/N continues playing still not realizing he had someone watching him, " 'Cause baby you look happier, you do~ I knew one day you'd fall for someone new. But if he breaks your heart like lovers do~, just know that I'll be waiting here for you~." Y/N finishes and takes his hands off the keys proud that he finished the song and it sounded perfect.

"I knew you had talent but I never knew you could sing and play like that." Suga finally speaks up and Y/N snaps his head in surprise.

"Koushi?" He asked still unable to believe his friend was finally standing in front of him but once he gets closer to him his expression turns into one of concern, "Were you crying?"

Suga immediately turns around trying to wipe away his face, "No." Suga refuses to tell the truth.

Y/N forcefully turns Suga around and wraps his arms around the smaller grey-haired male knowing Koushi could never refuse his hugs. Koushi realizes how much he's missed these hugs and wraps his arms around Y/N pulling him closer and into the warmth he loved. Y/N remembered how much they used to cuddle after finishing up projects for classes together or just homework from the same teacher. He wouldn't admit it but Y/N missed Koushi so much and he missed this time with him even if he didn't want to show it; Y/N wasn't a tsundere but he had tsundere like tendencies that made him refuse that he had a crush on Koushi until it was too late. Y/N snaps out of his thoughts as he feels a weight leaning on him, he realizes Koushi passed out on him and he may not look like it but he actually exercises and could easily carry Koushi, so that's what he does. He takes Koushi in his arms gently and takes him home.

He enters the Sugawara house and greets Koushi's mother who's cooking, she seemed surprised to see me carrying Koushi in but allows me to go put him in his room. I go do that and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get Koushi to let go of me so I sent a text to my mom telling her I would be staying the night at Koushi's house and I lay in bed with him. I wasn't tired before but Koushi makes it impossible to not sleep with him.
