Lucas: *sigh*

Ness: Hey, Lucas. What's wrong? You had a nightmare again of losing your family again?

Lucas: Oh, Ness... No...it's...not a nightmare... In fact, I stopped having nightmares about losing my family again a long time ago.

Ness: I see... Then what's up, buddy?

Lucas: It's nothing, Ness. Really... I'm alright.

Ness: Come on, Lucas. I thought we're best buds. You don't have to hide anything from me. I know something's up with you and I don't need my PSI powers to help me sense it. I know you well enough to know that something's bothering you. So don't worry dude, I'm not gonna hurt you.

Lucas: *sigh* I...I don't feel strong enough...

Ness: Huh? What are you talking about? You are strong. Why on earth would you say that?

Lucas: Ness... We were ambushed by a horde of puppet fighters. Didn't you see me how I reacted when they came out of nowhere...?

Ness: Well, I did. But there's nothing wrong about it to be honest, none of us expected them since we were about to rest.

Lucas: B-But it's not just that! One attacked while I didn't noticed and I almost got hit. I was caught off guard, I was scared! Then...you saved me...

Ness: Of course, I saved you. You're my best bud. There's nothing to be ashamed of at all! It doesn't make you weak at all! Don't dwell on that, especially now that we're ok anyway. You're not weak!

Lucas: I'm sorry... It's just...looking at you yourself... You're so confident, brave, like you're so perfect!

Ness: Lucas, while I do appreciate the compliment, perfect is VERY far-fetched...

Lucas: And you're so humble too!

Ness: Lucas...I'm not kidding when I said I ain't perfect... After defeating Giygas, I've definitely changed, but that doesn't make me anywhere perfect at all.

Lucas: What do you mean? You're great! How could you think otherwise?

Ness: Did you pay attention to how I was fighting earlier? I was really angry when I saw you got hurt and saw the others in trouble too and I got reckless fighting those goons when they were hurting you guys. There were times I got myself hurt because of this... And I tell you, this is not even the first time I got hurt for getting too reckless. I know my strengths and I have confidence in myself, but even I have weaknesses too, Lucas. I care deeply for those I care about that should ever something happens, I jump right in without hesitation.

Lucas: Ness...

Ness: Yes, it's great, but if I'm not careful, I could hurt myself. Even worse, I'd get myself killed just for being too reckless. Remember, I did not defeat Giygas all by myself. If it weren't for Paula, Jeff, Poo, my family, and everyone that I've befriend along the way in my adventure to defeat Giygas, I would've died and the whole universe would've been doomed. I may have become so powerful after defeating my evil side in my mind and gaining incredible power from the Sound Stone and the Earth, but even though I have grown so much, I'm still not strong enough... I'm not like Mario, the Links, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Marth, Mega Man, Cloud, Bayonetta, Chrom, Byleth...hell..any of the heroes around us!

Lucas: No! Don't say that! You're really just as strong as any of them! It's why I strive to be stronger and brave like you as well as my brother! Don't you DARE ever say that, especially to me!

Ness: Lucas, you do know how I almost got myself hurt during that one battle against a spirit? I almost got myself in trouble until you jumped in just int time to deflect that attack, saving me... Don't deny it...

Lucas: I'm not denying anything at all! I can't just leave you be to do this all by yourself, I feel helpless and useless doing that! I saved you cause I care for you too so much.

Ness: And that is why you're already strong. Look at you, you get scared yet you don't let fear overcome you. You're just as brave and strong as any of us here.

Lucas: Ness...

Ness: Dude, you're strong... And you should recognize by now. Remember, you saved your world and vanquished all pure evil after pulling that last needle to awaken the Dark Dragon. At that point, despite all your sufferings and losses, you manage to grow and go so far. You became so strong at that point hearing from your dad and Kumatora. You saved everyone you love and care of. Added, your friends: Kumatora, Duster, and your dog Boney and your dad helped you along the way... So yeah, don't worry yourself too.

Lucas: Ness... Thank you... You have a point... I'm sorry that I was doubting myself... I'm not the crybaby like I was when I was young. Although, don't doubt yourself as well. I mean it.

Ness: Hahahaha now that you mentioned it, yeah. I shouldn't be too doubtful of myself too. See, we look out for each other, we're best friend. So thanks, Lucas. I'm glad you're my best friend.

Lucas: I'm glad you're my best friend too, Ness.

Ness: Anyway, with all that emotional stuff out of the way and since we're safe for now. Wanna play for a bit before we get back on the adventure to save the entire universe?

Lucas: Sure, I wanna play! And let's have some omelets and steak to eat after we play?

Ness: Oh I'm definitely up for some steak! All this fighting has made me really hungry. Come on, Lucas! No one wants to be a slowpoke!

Lucas: W-Wait up, Ness! N-Ness! Hold up! Wait for me!
