“Can I get you something to drink, Cas?” Silver asked as she made her way to the small kitchen in her quarters. It was way past curfew on the base, but Silver had invited Casedrion over just for the sole purpose of neither of them being able to sleep. Casedrion sat on the small little couch that was in the quarters and shook his head, “No, I’ll pass. Silv.” He said quietly as silver rounded the corner with a glass of warm tea in her hand.
She sat on the couch, bringing her legs up and under herself as she faced Casedrion with the warm beverage in hand. She took a sip as she watched the mandalorian move. He was deprived of his armor and jacket, something she wasn't used to seeing. Casedrion only had his PJs and helmet on as he situated himself to be facing her.
They sat in silence for a moment or two, being content with just each other's presence in the small room. “Tell me about the Mandalorian culture.” Silver started as her head leaned onto the back cossion of the couch with a relaxed huff of air. Casedrion tilted his head slightly, showing his curiosity, “What do you want to know?” he states in a quiet tone as Silver thinks, “How do the clans work with the houses?” she asked first as Casedrion smiled under the beskar, “The clans are your family, like Clan Jones is my family, I was born and raised in the clan on Dantooine till I was 15. My family was partnered with House Arbitary back before I was even born, they’ve helped with a lot of issues our clan ran into, mostly over the fact our parents didn't know how to lead anything to victory and peace.” Casedrion explained his family background, trying to laugh slightly when getting closer to the end of his small monologue to keep it somewhat positive.
“After me and my sister’s parents died, we went looking for a new family to turn to. The leader’s of Clan Arbitary couldn't help us in our predicament because ‘we were old enough to make our own decisions.’ “ Casedrion mocked slightly as Silver stayed quiet, taking in the information and allowing him to feel comfortable about sharing his life with her. “After a few months of searching for a place to call home, we came onto a group of mandalorians called, “DeathWatch.” Me and my sister spent the rest of the year and a few months with them. We were sworn into their creed and followed their ways. Samara was trained by some of the mandalorians in how to use the darksaber. We started taking bounties to keep the clan supported and food in our stomachs.” Casedrion explained as Silver nodded in understanding.
She looked at him with sympathy and tiredness lacing her eyes. After staring at the beskar, she looked to the hilts of sabers on the small coffee table, “So how did your sister claim the Darksaber?” she asked as she reached for the hilt and looked at its intricate design, playing with the chain on the end that read “Sam”.
“She used to scavenge near the shores of our planet to find things to sell to make a few extra credits. She found the saber one early morning and brought it home. After learning about the history of the Darksaber from Clan Arbitary, she started to practice with the saber in fighting. Samara was quite gifted in the arts of the saber." Casedrión babbled as he remembered some of the training days he spent with his older sister.
Silver nodded, taking a sip from her cup of tea, "Then why would you stay with me? DeathWatch seemed to be quite a clan that would have supported you well." She questioned next as Casedrión sighed, "After the death of my sister, the clan wasn't ever really a family, more of a group of people who all tolerated each other till they could find a job to take," he paused as he breathed a small laugh, "They always fought, rather it be dueling or just throwing hands because they were bored." He spoke, tiredness lacing his voice as well.
Silver laughed slightly, trying to piece together what his life was like. Silence fell over the two, Silver watching Casedrión as she could see the slight nodding off of his beskar helmet. She smirked when she watched the helmet finally tilt enough to hit the side of the couch, Casedrión's head following the fall as he drifted into sleep. Silver stood, placing the cup of tea on the small coffee table in front of the couch. She moved Casedrión to be laying on the couch, placing a small pillow under his head. She watched as he adjusted to the new prone position, sighing contently, as he drifted into sleep. Silver nodded with a satisfied smile, turning on her heel to find a blanket for the Mandalorian.
