Even in scary situations, the two (mostly Hilbert) like to mess with each other.

Ecruteak City (Burned Tower), Johto

Hilda: I wish we had checked out the Burned Tower after the Bell Tower. Bell Tower was scary because of the all the creaking and it made me picture the tower falling, but this Burned Tower is next level scary! It honestly feels like it can give way at any moment.

Hilbert: It's even more scary when you know the history behind the two. What if lighting struck the tower and it caught fire again?

Hilbert: Shut up! Don't remind me please I'm already scared enough! Oh geez, what if there are ghosts here too?! Wait, don't answer that!

Hilbert (purposely standing at the edge of a hole in the floor looking down at the bottom floor): Hmm, doesn't look like it.

Hilda (quickly pulling Hilbert back): Don't do that it's dangerous!

Hilbert (pretending to trip): Whoops sorry haha!

Hilda: Oh my Arceus, I'm serious! Just remember, Escape Ropes are good for one person and I've got one in my bag while you don't!

Hilbert (taking a step before a plank of wood underneath gives way): Oh shit, that was close! Did you see that?

Hilda (taking out an Escape Rope): That's it, I'm just gonna wait outside the tower. Call me only if you're seriously gonna die, bye!

Hilbert: Wait, I'm sorry! I was kidding the first two times but that last one was for real!

Hilda (leaving): Good luck!

Hilbert (30 mins later meeting Hilda outside the tower): Hilda! You're the worst. But oh well, pretty sure I caught a glimpse of the 3 Legendary Beasts while I was in there!

Hilda: Alright, I was gonna say I was actually worried about you but clearly you're just fine! Anyway, why should I believe that?! You've been messing with me all day today!

Hilbert: Maybe it was a good thing you weren't there with me. After all, they do only show up around worthy trainers!

Hilda: Wait, what are you suggesting?!

Lavender Town (Pokémon Tower), Kanto

Hilbert: I know how terrified of ghosts you are, so I'm proud of you for coming to the Pokémon Tower despite that.

Hilda: I think it's much more important that I come here to pay my respects to the fallen Pokémon. Especially after hearing that story of the poor Cubone and its mother, how could I not?

Hilbert: It really is a tragic story, but I'm glad the two can rest easy now. By the way, I've got a Silph Scope here if you want to use it.

Hilda: I'd prefer not to... Just make sure that I don't walk into any ghosts.

Hilbert (holding Hilda's hand): Of course. In that case, I'll use the Silph Scope.

Hilda (looking up at Hilbert wearing the Silph Scope): Hehe you look kinda dumb wearing that.

Hilbert: Oh? Well, I can take them off and we can run into ghosts if you'd like?

Hilda: Nonono please, I actually said you look kinda yum wearing that.

Hilbert: Nice try but I heard what you said.

Hilda: Oops, well at least I was being honest. Anyway, this tower is making me think about how Pokémon are such a huge yet normal part of our lives.

Hilbert: I hope we never take them for granted, I can't begin to image a world without Pokémon.

Hilda: All I know is that I sure wouldn't want it.

Hilbert (taking off the Silph Scope and handing it to Hilda): Well, maybe now you aren't too scared to see some Pokémon ghosts?

Hilda (covering her eyes): Ahh nope! Still don't think I can do it!

Hilbert: I just wanna see how dumb you look wearing it.

Hilda: Okayokayokay, I'm sorry about what I said!

(I am still convinced that there is an alternate universe where Pokémon exist.)

Notes: I'll never forget how I absolutely freaked out when Gerard Way suddenly dropped "Baby You're A Haunted House" a couple of years ago just before Halloween after not having made music for awhile.
