a/n i added some more to this chapter because i didn't realize there wasn't much left of episode 1. i'll be adding the last scene to the next chapter.

2020 los angeles
after spending some loving moments with her boys, they decided to go back to the studio and figure out what they're gonna do, considering julie kicked them out.
"you mean she's really not gonna let us stay here?" i asked sending the guys a sad look. "we just barged into her life. i understand why she doesn't want us here." alex spoke wrapping his arm around my shoulders "it'll be okay though. we'll find some place where we all can stay." he assured the girl.
"i know what would cheer us all up." luke smirked as he grabbed his guitar, the rest of the guys followed suit getting the idea. i smiled moving onto the couch to watch them play. i began to dance in my seat, enjoying the music.
"guys! guys stop! enough, cut it out!" julie spoke entering the garage panicking. reggie and alex listened slowly coming to a stop but luke continued to play causing julie to cross her arms. "the whole neighborhood could hear you. i thought i told you to leave?" julie spoke "we did but then we found lav and came back." reggie informed the girl causing me to giggle "wait people can hear us play?" luke asked totally ignoring what reggie said. "yes! so did my dad and my brother." julie argued "wait so only you can see us but other people can hear them play?" i asked moving towards her. "what kind of ghosts are we?" alex asked confused
"who cares? people can hear us play!" luke shouted happily "we might be dead but our music isn't." reggie joked. i went to apologize to julie but was cut off by who i'm assuming her father is walking in.
"hey. just making sure you're okay." julies dad spoke sending the girl a small smile. "oh yeah i'm fine. just had to turn the CD player off." julie replied pointing in the direction of the music player. he nodded but turned around in surprised. "woah is this the old junk that was up in the loft?" he asked moving over to alex's drum set. "junk?" luke questioned angrily. julie sent him a sorry look before returning her attention back to her dad. "some of this stuffs in pretty good shape. maybe we could make a couple bucks." her dad spoke touching the cymbals causing alex to get upset. "yo! stop touching my drums. tell him to stop touching my drums." alex said frantically looking at julie.
moving away from the drum set, julies dad stood between luke and i "I liked that song you had on." he spoke gesturing to the music player "sweet! we're sunset curve." luke said looking at julies dad. "tell your friends!" reggie added. i slapped my forehead. "reggie baby, he can't hear you." i spoke sending the boy a look who just shrugged in response. "it's just an old CD i found." julie lied "it's nice that you're listening to music again. out here you can play whatever you want whenever you want." he spoke kindly. "oh sweet." i replied happy to be able to listen to my boys whenever i wanted "stay out of this." julie sent a glare my way, which i of course returned.
"i'm sorry honey-" julies dad spoke shocked "no not you uh- just give me a minute." julie interrupted grabbing his hand and dragging him out of the studio. "hey hey hey hey. we'll figure this music program out." he reassured the girl hoping to calm her down. "thanks dad." she sent him a grateful smile.
"why can't you guys just be normal ghosts?" julie asked angrily "why don't you go somewhere ghosts goes. how about pasadena." she spoke before storming out of the studio
once julie and her dad left, alex turned to us. "i think she's warming up to us." he spoke with a smile "yeah right idiot." i rolled my eyes. i turned to luke, wanting a hug but found he wasn't anywhere around. "guys where did luke go?" i asked beginning to panic. "sh calm down." alex spoke wrapping his arms around me. "he just went to convince julie to let us stay okay. nothing happened to him." alex assured me, trying to keep me from getting worked up. "come on, let's join them." reggie suggested, holding his hand out for me to take. i nodded grabbing his hand before flashing to where the pair was.
"she passed away." i could hear julie say sadly. " i am so sorry." luke spoke sympathetically. "we didn't know." i spoke softly looking at the ground, feeling bad about the way i've acted towards her. "wait have you guys seen her?" she asked hopefully looking at the four of us. i shook my head softly as alex spoke "uh no. you're kinda the first person we've seen." sending her a small smile. "yeah but she's not dead, so it doesn't answer her question." reggie butted in. i shook my head sending him a look. "i think she knows what we mean." i replied. "i am so sorry for your loss and i'm sorry for the way i've acted." i apologized, sending the girl a genuine smile.
hopefully i can make it up to her somehow.
"do you play?" reggie asked pointing to the studio where all of the instruments that weren't the guys were placed. "uh no. my mom did." julie spoke looking at the ground. "no way. she's an amazing songwriter." luke said excitedly "yeah.. wait how do you know?" julie asked looking at luke weirdly. "uh there was a song on the piano. we looked at it." i spoke up scratching the back of my neck "your mom was really talented." alex complimented earning a smile from the girl.
julie turned to enter her house but stopped "i guess.. if you need a place to stay, you can stay in there. there's a bathroom in the back and a couch that turns into a bed. if you can still use that." she spoke with a small smile. "dibs on the shower!" reggie shouted excitedly. "what sometimes i like a shower and an occasional bath." he shrugged after seeing the looks everyone gave him. "this. this is too weird." she shook her head before leaving. after julie was out of sight, we celebrated.
maybe things would finally feel okay.
