CHAPTER 1
The first rays of dawn streamed through the curtains of Tenten's small bedroom, gently coaxing her awake. With a tired yawn, she sat up and rubbed her eyes, the memories of her dreams fading like mist. The events of the day before flooded back into her mind – the training, the laughter, and the loneliness that lingered like a shadow.
Tenten swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, her feet padding softly against the wooden floor. She moved with practiced ease, slipping into her ninja attire and deftly fastening her forehead protector. As was her routine, she carefully styled her hair into two neat buns, a trademark look she had grown fond of.
Memories of her absent father resurfaced, causing a fleeting ache in her heart. He had vanished from her life when she was just a young child, leaving her with unanswered questions and a sense of abandonment. Her mother's sudden departure years later only deepened her feelings of loss and longing.
With a heavy sigh, Tenten pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the day ahead. She prepared a simple sandwich for breakfast, opting to eat on the go as she often did. Today, she felt the need to wander into the forest, hoping the peaceful surroundings would bring some solace to her troubled mind.
By the time Tenten arrived at the training grounds, the morning sun was casting its warm glow over the landscape. She was always the first to arrive, cherishing the solitude that came with the early hours. Her teammates, Neji and Lee, would join her soon, along with their eccentric sensei, Might Guy.
Neji, with his striking features and Byakugan eyes, was a formidable and confident shinobi. Lee, on the other hand, exuded boundless energy and an unwavering determination to become a taijutsu master. Despite their differences, they formed a close-knit trio, each complementing the strengths and weaknesses of the others.
Their sensei, Guy, was a boisterous and enthusiastic figure, whose passion for youth and his students knew no bounds. With his shiny bowl-style haircut and striking eyebrows, he was an unmistakable presence on the training grounds.
On this particular morning, as the team gathered for training, Guy sensei had an important announcement. Guy sensei booming with excitement, "HELLO MY BEAUTIFUL YOUTHS, TODAY WE HAVE A NEW MISSION! ARE YOU READY?" Lee, energetic as always, replied first, "YES SENSEI, WE ARE READY!" Guy sensei yelled, "OKAY, LET'S GO! TEAM GAI!"
As they headed towards the Hokage's office, anticipation filled the air. The Hokage entrusted them with a B-rank mission – an escort assignment to the Mist Village. Their charge was a man named Koji, and the success of their mission relied on their skill and teamwork.
The journey to the Mist Village was not without its challenges. In the dense forest, they found themselves ambushed by a group of masked ninjas, their intentions malicious and mysterious.
Tenten's heart pounded in her chest as she took her stance, protecting Koji with unwavering resolve. Tenten staying focused, "Stay close to me, Koji. We won't let them harm you."
Neji and Lee sprang into action, engaging the attackers with their unique fighting styles. As Tenten fought, she noticed the poison on one of the ninja's katana, before she could do anything a ninja appeared behind her. The ninja was about to kill Koji but Tenten stopped it, the ninja who shadow cloned popped behind her, and just in time Tenten got out of the way grabbing Koji with her. She looked up and sawa ninja trying to stab Koji. Tenten tried to defend him, but she got stabbed in the shoulder but sliced the ninja in the throat. Before the ninja died he chuckled and said something. Tenten couldn't hear it since he whispered it. She took out the katana, it hurt but she ignored the pain. She put some bandages on her shoulder. Koji thanked her.
Her skills were put to the test, as the battle raged on, but she refused to back down. The team fought valiantly, and together they defeated the assailants, ensuring Koji's safety.
Victorious but not unscathed, Tenten noticed the poison beginning to take its toll. She hid her pain, unwilling to burden her teammates.
Neji was concerned with Tenten's complexion. "Tenten, you don't look well. We need to get you to a safe place." Lee nodded his head worriedly, "Neji's right! Let me help you!" Tenten declined their offers, "I can manage. Let's just get back to the village."
After the task was completed, they were making their way home, Tenten's condition worsened, and she struggled to keep going. Her vision blurred, and she leaned on a tree for support. Tenten was resolute, "I'm almost there. I can do this. I have to be strong."
Despite her determination, her body gave way, and she collapsed into Neji's arms, coughing blood. Lee panicked, "Neji, we have to get her to the hospital quickly!"
Filled with concern for their injured comrade, Neji carried Tenten while Lee rushed ahead to seek help. He prayed for her recovery, realizing how much he cared for her.
In the hospital, Tenten received urgent medical attention. Her teammates stood vigil, worried for their friend and teammate.
Neji quietly said, "You're going to be okay, Tenten. You're strong." Despite her weakened state, Tenten managed a faint smile, grateful for the support of her teammates. Tenten softly thanked them, "Thank you, both of you. I couldn't have done it without you."
As the days passed, Tenten's strength slowly returned, and their bond as a team grew even stronger. In the face of adversity, they had proven that together, they were an unstoppable force.
