I was taking care of Frisk because she was still alive. When she woke up, I was surprised. How could someone determined as her not die from that?

"You feelin' better already?"

"Y-yeah. A little bit."

"Sans and Flowey are just trying to fix something at the moment. You want me to teleport us there?"

"Sure."

I teleported to where Sans and Flowey were and saw that they were fixing the machine.

"Hey Flowey," Sans said, "Could you hand me that wrench from over there?"

"Do I look like your assistant?"

"Please?"

"Yeah, sure, whatever...take your stupid wrench!"

Flowey threw the wrench at Sans but his attempt at trying to hurt him failed.

"Thank you."

He went back to working on the machine and realized that Frisk and I were still standing there.

"Ai, it's done! Let's hope it works this time."

"Right!" I said, "I almost drained all of my magic out of my body last time, but I hope this works as well."

"Wait a minute," Flowey said, "'hope?' 'This time?' How many times have you both tried this?"

"Just a couple of hundred of times," I responded, "But if Chara managed to get back on her own, I'm pretty sure that we could bring him back. Uh, you should close your eyes for a bit."

Meanwhile in the void

Gaster was sitting inside of the void waiting to be rescued. I stepped up to him an uttered out a spell.

Restore

His cracked skull suddenly began to restore itself and his head retained its original shape.

"Impossible. How did they?"

"Gaster!"

"Ai? How did you and Sans-"

"No time for talk! Hurry! We have to get to the door before it closes."

We got out of the void just in time and met Sans coming out.

"Heya."

"Heya. Did you 'mist' me?"

"Come on, guys," I said, "Why don't we just a-void the jokes for now. We got a huge problem at the moment. Your help would come in 'handy.'"

"Your jokes are disgusting!" Flowey said from the distance

Then, I felt a tug on my sweater and Frisk was right behind me. She seemed...frightened.

"Hey, what's wrong, Frisk?"

"Oh!" Gaster noticed, "Don't worry little human. I have no intentions to harm you."

"See?" I said, "He's nice. As long as he isn't alone that is."

"So we need to ask you a favor," I said, "You know where the human souls are, right? Please take us there."

"Very well," he said, "Let's go."

His eyes were glowing red and blue while he took us to the human souls.
