"Oh! You must be Charlotte!" Aiden's mom pulling me in for a hug.
"Hi, Mrs. Throns," I said then we pulled apart.
"Hello, Charlotte!" Aiden's dad said.
"Hi, Mr. Throns. It's very nice to meet you two!" I said smiling.
"It's nice to meet you too, Charlotte!" they both said.
I heard the front door open. I turn around to see that it was Nate.
He saw me and asked, "Oh, Charlotte, what are you doing here?"
Aiden answered, "Mom and dad wanted to meet her and invite her for dinner. Where have you been?"
"I just got here," Nate said while closing the door.
"Nate, you've met Charlotte, have you?" his mom asks.
He replied, "Yeah. If you need me, just knock on my door because I'm practicing for my chess tournament." He ran up the stairs. He looked upset.
After a few minutes later... we just talked and talked. I heard a ding noise coming from the kitchen.
"Oh! That must be the chicken!" Aiden's mom said.
"Hope you like chicken," his dad said.
"I do, acutally," I said then smiled.
"Charlotte, dear, do you mind helping me set up the table?" his mom asked me.
"Mom..." Aiden said.
"No, it's fine. I don't mind, Mrs. Throns. I can help. I help my mom all the time," I said then stood up.
I walked to the kitchen and helped Mrs. Throns set up the table.
"You have talent," she told me then smiled.
"Thanks," I said.

After we ate dinner, there was still a few pieces of chicken left. Nate didn't come downstairs to eat.
I ask, "Uh.. is Nate going to come downstairs and eat?"
"I'm actually preparing his food right now," Mrs. Throns said.
"Oh, I can bring it to him," I offered.
"You've done enough," Aiden told me. "You helped set up the table, you washed the dishes, it's okay, Char."
"But I want to help," I told him.
Mrs. Throns handed me the plate of food and I went upstairs.
"First one on the right," Mr. Throns told me.
I heard him and I knocked on the door.
"It's me, Nate," I said.
He opened the door and said, "Oh, hey, Charlotte."
"This is for you," I said then handed him the plate of food.
He took it and set it on his desk. I came in his room and looked around.
"I really like your room, Nate. It's very-"
"Nerdy, huh?" he asked.
"What? No, I was going to say detailed. It's better than mines. I don't even have any posters on my wall," I told him.
"Well.. uh.. thanks?" he said.
He sat down on a chair and practice his chess.
"Can I play?" I asked.
"You know how?" he asked.
"Yeah, I won in middle school and elementary school," I told him.
"Really? So did I."
"You're on."
I sat down and played with him for a few minutes until Aiden came upstairs.
"You're ready to go home?" Aiden asks.
"Yeah," I replied getting up from the chair.
"I'll see you tomorrow at school," I said to Nate and waved.
"Bye," he said.
Aiden pulled up on my driveway and said, "I'll walk you."
"No, it's okay, Aiden. It's right there," I said.
He nodded and said, "Okay."
I gave him a quick kiss and went home.
