Will's eyes shot open by the brightness falling through the window that was kept open.

I blocked the sun with my hand and looked at Tessa. Her beautiful face was in deep thought. I kissed her forehead and smiled. I will let her sleep in a little longer, I thought. I grabbed my gear and began undressing. I put on my pants and shirt first, then my belts with various different weapons on them, and then my jacket and boots that had more weapons laced through them. Tessa woke not long after that, her eyes tired and weary. She did not say a word, she just began getting ready like it was routine. I watched her in utter silence, and surprise. She finally looked at me before she began tying her shoes.

"What is it?" She said. I bent down to her and cupped her face.

"Remember what I told you." I said. She nodded.

"I do." She said. I kissed her softly, our lips touching only for a moment and then she pulled away. "Listen." She whispered. The sound of demons echoed the halls.

"They're here." I muttered. Tessa got up and we ran down the hallways. Everyone else was ready to go, their eyes glassy and frightened. Clary looked the most frightened, holding Jace's hand tightly. Tessa held up her weapon and they nodded. I grabbed my sword and we ran out the door, yelling out our battle cry.

Thousands and thousands surrounded us. I hit the first demon with my sword and slashed through, guarding Tessa with my other arm. More and more surrounded me. Tessa had to start fighting and we had to stand back-to-back.

"Move forward! Get to the middle! Don't get trapped!" I heard Jocelyn yell to Clary, who was backed up into a corner. Jace and Alec were in front of her and she was absolutely terrified. They couldn't hold the demons off very much longer. I watched as Jace and Alec got trampled by the demons as they ran for Clary. Her scream echoed through the air. I ran past Tessa and went to Clary. I could hear Tessa yell at me to come back, but something made me ignore her. Clary seemed to be in more trouble that Tessa at the moment, and I knew that she could hold off the demons well. I looked at her and realized that she was hurt very well. Her sword was swinging left and right, not hitting a demon once.

I fought off some demons and then grabbed her waist and put her on my shoulder. I ran through the crowd while Luke kept me covered. I gave her to Jocelyn and Luke and they put her in the Institute where Simon and another vampire were. I remained killing demons. It seemed everlasting; the amount of demons and downworlders here was unbelievable. I was getting rather tired after hours of fighting, and so were the others. Tessa went to see of Isabelle was okay, because she had gotten bitten by a demon. Magnus was the one holding us up, keeping us fighting. But even he was exhausted. After another hour, Cary came back out with Luke guarding her. Magnus was still miraculously shooting spells at the demons and was doing well.

Suddenly, I heard a blood curdling scream. Tessa. I ran past the mob of demons and saw her in the hands of a boy that had blonde hair and green eyes. He looked about the same age as Jace, and looked remarkably like Jace. He was holding her by her hair and she was extremely bloody. My heart stopped. Everyone around us stopped fighting all at once and looked in our direction. Tessa was crying, her face showing that she was in a lot of pain. I couldn't bear to see her like this.

"Let...Me...Go..." She trembled. The boy just smiled at her sinisterly. "I SAID LET GO OF ME GOD DAMMIT!!!" She bawled.

"Calm down..." He smirked, dropping her to her knees. "Good things come in...TIME!" He said, kicking her in the back and she flew to me, hitting my legs. I dropped down to the ground and held her close to me; her sobs making me cringe in anger. Before I could say anything, Valentine appeared in the crowd. He looked at the boy in anger.

"My son, why do you hurt your bride like this? Obviously she does not like that..." He said. Valentine's real son hung his head. What? She's getting married to Jonathon?

"I'm sorry father. She was trying to get out my grip." He said. Tessa hugged me tighter. I held her head and her back and looked at Valentine like he had just killed a puppy.

"You never touch her again, you understand?" I said. Jonathon turned around and then threw a dagger at me. I pushed Tessa into Alec and dodged the dagger easily. I grabbed my sword and ran at him, filled with rage.

Tessa watched as Will fought Jonathon.

She was being held up by Simon now. Her sobs had faded, her attention on the fact that Will could die at any moment. Simon gripped her arms tightly, holding her up. I finally stood up and watched as Valentine slashed Will's arm. I held in a scream and closed my eyes. I felt Simon's hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes again and saw Will hit Valentine in the leg. He screeched and jabbed at Will. He dodged it swiftly and hit Valentine in the cheek. He yelled in rage and jumped up on a building, his teeth out and he was snarling like a wild animal. Will just watched as Valentine swung his sword and threw himself at him. Will stuck out his sword but was stabbed at the same time by Valentine's son. This time I screamed, my hand going over my mouth. Will looked at me in pain and then the boy pulled the sword out of him. Will fell to his knees and groaned. I tried running at him but Simon held me back. I screamed again, tears filling my eyes. Simon was pulled from me and I felt someone hit me hard on the head, making me unconscious.
