"Hey..." I forced happiness into my greeting like a vaccine into a baby.
"Stressed from finals? I get if you're not at your best today. Let me know if you need anything... even though I can really only help if it's food!" Dad winked and flashed a smile at me. I laughed weakly. Goosebumps raised on the back of my neck. I could've sworn to have felt Ana breathing on me. Watching and waiting to give me advice. It was kind of weird, but after a few seconds of thought, I was reassured that she really cared about me.
Glad to know you get my intentions now. Ask what's for lunch. Look up the calorie and fat contents and pick your poison based off of health, not taste.
Ana butted into my thoughts with meal advice. I pulled out my phone.
"Dad what are you making for lunch?"
I asked.
"Just basic today. Kale and arugula salad with balsamic glaze with spaghetti and lamb teriyaki meatballs."
I laughed.
"What?" He questioned.
"If that's basic for you, and last nights dinner was simple, I can only wonder what complex is." I kissed him on the cheek. He grinned.
"You're a piece of work, Pops." I smiled at him then turned my back and walked towards the table as I lowered my gaze down to my phone, typing questions of calorie contents into google. The same site kept coming up with my answers.

I tapped install and opened up the app. I didn't even need Ana to tell me to. With a name like My Fitness Pal, I couldn't go wrong.
I could feel Ana's happiness for my newfound independence.

I went through the tutorial. It was basically a calorie tracker. You set a goal - I chose 1200 - per day, and you search in the database for the things you eat. Select the portion, and it comes up with the calorie count of it. You can also input exercise and track your weight progress plus update your status and have 'friends' like on facebook but for weight loss.

This will help so much. Pre-enter your lunch so you don't overeat.
I did. 412 calories. 788 left for the day. I was astonished at how little food 1200 calories actually was.
Good girl. Maybe lower your goal eventually. One thousand and two hundred calories is a lot for a near-overweight girl like you.
"I mean 1200 isn't that much. it's a pretty small amount," I argued with Ana.
Whatever you want, but you might get fat... Just warn-
"Bon Apatite!" Dad interrupted my thoughts with the dramatic presentation of our platters.
