Hey guys. my mom discovered my ED instagram account, so I have to cleanse my phone of everything ED related before she searches it. I'm so sorry. here's how I Eat Numbers ends:
Taylor falls deeper into her eating disorder and starts purging after her meals. Ana slowly disappears after Taylor becomes her own devil. She sinks lower and lower in weight. Her dad doesn't notice, but Jackson, her brother, does. He tells the school nurse after he finds Taylor passed out in the bathroom covered in throw up and blood from having purged too long. Taylor is rushed to the emergency room where she is treated; her larynx burst. Collin comes to the hospital (They started dating and he was her main inspiration for getting skinny) and tells her how much he wishes she would stop starving. Her dad decides not to put her inpatient, and rumors spread around school. People notice her weight gain and she falls into old habits. Her father puts her inpatient and she recovers, only to relapse a week later into an extremely large binge/purge session that reopens the cuts on her larynx and cause her to internally bleed out. Taylor dies. Jackson commits suicide by overdosing and cutting himself. Collin goes inpatient for depression and self harm and eventually recovers, but is constantly plagued with nightmares of Taylor. Taylor's father takes in Collin as his own (Collin was an orphan to begin with) and takes care of him. They cope together, but nothing is ever quite the same.
Sad ending, I know, but this is what happens to people with Eating Disorders.
Message of this book: DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE VOICE IN YOUR HEAD. DO NOT EVER PURPOSELY THROW UP TO LOSE WEIGHT. YOU HAVE MORE MEANING THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW. THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU ALL♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎
