Draco Malfoy refused to left go of the black haired girls cold hand as they carried her body away on the stretcher.

He refuses to let go of it as it lay for hours in the dungeon where a little room had been transformed into a morgue.

Despite the leaking walls, weak lighting and damp smell of the little room, he stayed there for hours and hours.

Dumbledore walked in to find him asleep, yet still holding her pale, white hand in his.

He ignored anybody who entered and refused their pleas for him to eat or drink.

Cedric Diggory visited every other hour. They never spoke a word to eachother. They sat in silence and watched her as if she was sleeping.

The blood from her hair and wounds were cleaned and she almost looked as she once did, except the happiness and life was drained from her now.

He looked into her familiar eyes one more time before they closed them for the last time.

Cedric brought flowers by the hour and placed them in and on anything he could find.

With a wave of his wand Dumbledore transformed her groggy uniform into a beautiful black silk nightgown that wasn't bleached white from water.

Her hair became suddenly clean and straight again, the knots and tangles from the wind and blood disappeared.

Now, she just looks like she's peacefully sleeping.

"Draco," Albus Dumbledore's calm and wise voice reaches out to the young boy by the bed.
Twelve long hours had passed and the sun was almost fully risen.

"She must go now." He told him, much to the boys dismay. He shook his head slowly and quietly began sobbing into her hand.

"Please," he begged, "I can't leave her."

Dumbledore sympathetically placed his hand on the boys back but he was quickly shoved off.

"Draco," he gently said, joining his fingers together and letting them hang infront of him. "In life, we must not be selfish, I believe that there is somebody else, or rather...'somebodies', who need to be with her now more than ever." He calmly told the heartbroken young man. "You know what became of her, but they do not."

The boy looked up to his Principal with hatred in his eyes. Hatred but understanding. His face was pale and lethargic, the skin under his eyes raw from crying. Yet he still cried.

"I can't leave her..." he sobbed. Dumbledore smiled sympathetically. "But you must."

A further four hours later the three men trudged down to the lake. A familiar scene.

Tall, deep green trees framed a free flowing lake. A little bank of sandy soil lay infront of them.
Dumbledore lay the woman's body carefully on the sand and stood back to admire her beauty.

"But proffesor?" Cedric asked, his face also pale and grief stricken. "Why are we just leaving her here?"

The old man smiled to the boy. "This is where she came from...don't worry...she will find her way home."

Dumbledore nodded respectfully to the body for the last time and began his journey back through the woods.

Cedric gulped and made his way over. Whispering inaudible words into the girls ear before he placed a single, red tulip in her hand. He leant down and kissed her forehead. Wiping a tear from his cheek, he left the scene.

Draco Malfoy swallowed harshly and allowed silent tears to fall down his cheek. He approached her and knelt down beside her in the sand. His hands stroked through her hair for the final time. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a pretty ring, a red and gold one. He dusted the remaining pieces of soil from it and with a tear induced frown, slid it onto her finger before recrossing her hands over eachother.

He adjusted the shining emeralds on the necklace around her neck until they were perfectly aligned.

Leaning in he placed a kiss on his lover's lips and sniffed heavily as he fought back tears. His hand caressed her cheek once more before he stood up.

"Enjoy heaven my angel..." he smiled weakly.
"Thanks to you, one day I'll meet you there."  He covered his eyes as tears began to form.

"I can't wait for that day."

He stood for almost an hour watching her. Hoping that maybe she'd move or answer him. But when he finally closed his eyes and realised that she now lives only in his memories, he turned around slowly and walked away.

The tides came in. Singing calm, angelic songs. Their waters shades of lilac and blue, then red and gold and then green and silvers.

Her body slowly edged with them as they called her back out into the lake from where she came.

The water is no longer dark or daunting and she slips away into its folds.

The stars gleaming down on her as the angels welcome her home
