(Sonic's POV)

I came into Amy's apartment window and got in to see her looking at her husband's ring. I can tell how much she missed her husband and she truly wished he was here with her.

"How are you doing?" I asked her.

"Not good. Life being single is not gonna be easy now." Amy said.

I walked up to her and comforted her. "I know how it feels to be alone and single. When we first met, I never felt something different in my life." I said.

"Really?" Amy asked.

"Yes, felt warmth and love." I said.

Amy scooted up to me to hear more and her sadness faded away as she listens.

"You filled my life with light from the darkness along with your daughter." I said.

She put my hood down to stroke my quills which made me purr. "How long were you in the dark?" She asked.

"For three centuries until now." I replied.

"Me too for a year when Dexter disappeared. I think you and I have lost someone important in our lives until it brought us together to find the light. Do you ever feel loved?" She asked.

"Well only in a friendly way from my friends but not once I had a real lover til I found you." I said.

She held my face and kissed me on the lips, but being careful with my fangs. Her kiss felt full of happiness, love and warmth, making my heart beat. I pulled her body close to me to deepen the kiss, something I never felt for centuries until now. She put her arms around my neck while I had my arms around her waist. She felt to smooth to hold on to. Her tongue entered my mouth and I licked back. We soon parted for air.

"Man, I think you gave my half undead heart a pulse." I chuckled.

"Love conquers hate and it always works metaphorically." Amy giggled at how much blush rushed in my face from the pulse.

"You're right, Amy." I chuckled.

"For what?" She asked.

"I've lived on hatred on evil vampires until I had you, Iris, and my guardians." I said.

"Heh, you have every right to hate evil vampires but too much hatred can lead to having your heart too dark. But you are never alone. While you were away for 2 hours, I bought pizza for myself. Have you ever tried them?" Amy wondered.

"No but I heard it's good. Is it true it's good?" I asked.

"Yes it is" Amy nodded.

She brought me to her kitchen and opened up a box where the pizza was in. It had pepperoni on it.

"Looks delicious." I could feel my mouth water with hunger.

"Watch those fangs, big boy." Amy can see my mouth open.

"Sorry." I smiled nervously.

"Sometimes you look dazzling with them." Amy smiled and hands a piece of pizza on a plate.

I took it and took a bite out of it and tasted it. "Mmmmm so delicious!"

"Best food in Italy." Amy said.

"Cool." I said.

"Yes. But you should know I only eat pizza like twice a month." Amy said.

"How come?" I asked curiously while eating and making sure the cheese doesn't slip off my hand from the piece.

"To stay in shape of course." Amy said.

"I see. For centuries your people found technology and discovered electricity." I said.

"Yes, Thomas Edison did with the lights." Amy said.

"Someone has been studying history. I'm impressed. I'm just a legendary Dark Wind." I said and ate my last piece of pizza and cleaned my hands with a napkin.

"And let's hope you stay a legend so bad people don't use you as a weapon." Amy chuckled.

I followed her where Iris is in her crib with an iPad watching a kids show called Vampirina.

"Aw cute. She seems to love vampire shows." I looked down at her.

"The only vampire shows." Amy said.

"Dada." Iris reaches out to me.

"Missed me my little girl?" I picked her up and cradled her.

"Ga." She held my finger.

"Heh, why you gotta be cute to dada?" I teased her.

"Hehehehehehe." Iris giggled and hugged my hand.

"My little angel." I chuckled.

"Yeah. Our little angel" Amy pets Iris' quills.

"Do you think she'll remember me when she's older?" I asked.

"As long as you're in her life." Amy said.

"She reminds me of myself as a baby when my mother saved my life to hide me from that vampire lord. Though I have no memory of her when she was alive." I stroked my little angel's quills.

"I assume your parents are proud of you for avenging them." Amy said.

"Yup. And your husband too. All three probably found the gateway to heaven." I said.

"Yes." nodded Amy.

"Ga!" Iris reaching out to that iPad to watch her favorite show.

"Okay Iris. Go ahead and watch the show." I put her back in her crib.

Amy and I head into the living room to have a moment. For a pink lady she's very gorgeous to me and a great mother to Iris. But I don't think I can be married to her as she and Iris will grow old and die while I'm unchanged. Immortality is a curse to watch people grow up and die of old age or natural cause but I remember Tails saying he's not bothered with him being mortal.

"Amy. Do you wish for me to move in with you? To help raise Iris through her life?" I asked.

"It's your choice, Sonic." Amy said

I may not know how to fit in her world but I do know she'll need my help raising Iris and Iris needs a new father. "I might but I'll always have my duty to hunt bad vampires. I'll always come back to you Amy." I said.

"Sonic, I love you, more than ever that you're with me and my daughter. You fixed the family." Amy said.

"I did?" I asked curiously.

"Without you I would be depressed for good." Amy said.

"I hate seeing someone so beautiful like a flower become a wilted rose. I've never felt better loving someone." I hugged her.

"Oh, Sonikku." Amy snuggled.

"Sonikku?" I said.

"Sorry, Japanese habit of nicknames." Amy chuckled.

"Sounds kinda cute, Ames." I replied.

"Ames? You got a nickname for me already?" Amy giggled.

"Heh, it slipped out of my mouth." I said with a blush.

"Oh Sonic." Amy nuzzled my cheek.

She heard my stomach growl a little; damn it, time to hunt blood again at night.

"I know, I hate it. It's like a curse." I chuckled shyly.

"Blood or food?" Amy asked.

"Blood and I gotta hunt vampires again. You feeling better right now since I comforted you?" I asked.

"Yes. Go get them tiger." Amy kissed me on the cheek before I go.

"Itoshi teru, hana." I said in Japanese as 'I love you, flower'.

Since she's part Japanese, I can tell by the Japanese decoration in the living room. I jumped out the window to go hunting for evil vampires. Yes I can speak a few fluent languages and dead languages like Latin, Sumerian, ancient Sanskrit, and a little Coptic of ancient Egyptian.
