Chapter Two

"Sweetie, how are you doing?" Mr Richard Stephen said to his daughter on the phone the next day.

"Dad when are you coming back?" Kaitlyn asked earnestly.

"Didn't your mom tell you. I'm coming back next Friday."

"Friday should come quickly then." She said.

"I'm sure it will." he said. "Where's Renae and where's Josh?"

"Renae!" "Josh!" She shouted. "Dad wants to speak to you both."

"Dad!" Josh said from Renae's room"Renae." he said tapping Renae.

"What is it?" She asked removing her ear plugs.

"Dad's on the phone." He said as they both go to the living room.

Renae collects the phone from Kaitlyn. "Dad." she greeted. She put it on speaker phone.

"How are you my dear?"

"Fine."

"I heard from a big bird that someone's admission was granted." he said teasingly. "So, how do you feel?"

"I feel great dad."

After speaking with Renae for about two minutes, Mr Richard asked"Where's my big boy Josh?"

"Over here dad."he said loudly so his voice could be heard in the other line.

Renae handed the phone to Josh.

"Dad."

"How are you my boy?"

"I'm doing fine dad."

"Goodbye."Mr Richard said after speaking with Josh for some time.

"Goodbye." the trio echoed.

Josh put the phone down on the centre table.

"Are you guys done talking to your dad?" Mrs Stephen asked when she came out of the kitchen.

"Yes mum" Renae answered for all of them and handed the phone to her.

"What did you talk about?"

"We talked about my admission and what I want to study"

"Have you decided yet?" Mrs Stephen asked.

"Not yet mom"

"Take your time, don't be in a hurry"

"Yes mom"

"But don't take to long"

"Okay"

"Hey, you must be new" a girl from Renae's class said in the hallway.

"Yes, I am" Renae said as she closed her locker.

"Hi, I'm Stella, what's your name?"

"I'm Renae"

"Renae" she asked. "Seriously?" She asked again.

"Yes, anything wrong?"

"No it's just that that's my mom's name"

"Really?" Renae asked.

"Really" Stella responded.

The bell rang. "That's the bell, we'd better get going" Stella said.

"What class is next?" Renae asked.

"Biology"

A guy approaches both of them. "Hey there newbie, hi Stella" he gave Stella a peck on the cheek.
